Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mila Molinari. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Mila, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Being born into a family of circus/theater parents has definitely influenced me. As a newborn baby being taken care by actors backstage while my parents where on stage and with a childhood working as my father’s magician assistant and being taken on tour with my parents to puppet theater festivals around Brazil have really inspired me to become an artist. So since the beginning I had no doubt of what I wanted to do in life. Showbiz was part of my “first breath” into this world.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My family got me into showbiz, and after being introduced to so many different art forms I became a dancer, singer, actress, circus and burlesque international showgirl. I’ve been working for years on my skills and shows to celebrate the culture of Swing, Tap & Jazz Age bringing a fresh approach to modern days to many different stages including theater, film, circus, cabaret and luxurious events with my numbers. I serve vintage glamour and authenticity with a touch of nostalgia and sensual playfulness to my creations and I love to entertain and take people to a different time and reality, like those 1940s Technicolor Old Hollywood musicals!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The best aspect of being an artist is the fact that we really never grow up , is like you never stopped playing and creating! My job is how I normally have fun and Mondays are normally my Sundays. The other reward is to make people feel good and happy by entertaining and creating more beauty to share with the world. All top up with champagne and lots of glitter!
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I don’t have a natural business mind, so throughout my journey I’ve read and watched a lot of biographies about my favorite artists to try to understand how to navigate and become a successful artist and manage myself in this competitive business. And it can be quite exhausting when you are trying to climb mountains or simply just to get by, so the most important thing is to find grounding and take care of your body and mental health. I do a lot of meditation, visualizations and read all kinds of law of attraction books to keep my mind sharp and inspired.
