We recently connected with Mike Quinones G and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Mike thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
The worst investment that you can do is taking time off. Trying to figure out things and pausing your career just because you want x or y, is counter productive. With this type of work you have to grab every opportunity that comes along, They never come back around. Do as much work as you can produce. Make your mistakes early. Mistakes are the best way to find perfection in the chaos of the arts. Develop your style, learn everything that life puts in front of you.

Mike, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Mike Quinones G, and I am a multi-disciplinary artist whose creative journey has taken me through painting, filmmaking, illustration, photography, and cartooning. Born in the vibrant city of Cartagena, Colombia, and later moving to Miami as a child, I’ve always felt a deep pull toward artistic expression. Art has been the core of my life from an early age, and I’ve spent my entire career exploring different mediums to tell compelling stories and evoke powerful emotions.
My journey as an artist began when I was just 16 years old. I started as a cartoonist, drawing fast-paced visual stories that allowed me to capture moments, emotions, and personalities in simple yet powerful ways. This foundation in cartooning became my gateway into a much broader artistic exploration. Over time, I delved into painting, filmmaking, photography, and illustration—constantly pushing myself to express my inner world in new and compelling ways.
My work is heavily influenced by both cubism and surrealism, which allows me to create vivid, imaginative worlds that pull people into my perspective. Whether I’m painting on canvas, capturing life through a lens, directing a film, or sketching a cartoon, my goal has always been the same: to tell stories that move people—whether it’s through vivid colors, abstract forms, or raw, unfiltered emotion.
One of the things I’m most proud of is my ability to make people feel something powerful when they engage with my art. I don’t just create images; I create experiences. When someone stands in front of one of my paintings, I want them to feel like they’ve been transported into another world, even if just for a moment. The same goes for my films and illustrations—there’s always a deep layer of emotion, meaning, and storytelling beneath the surface.
As I grew artistically, I also began working with clients, offering custom art services for everything from album covers, book illustrations, and promotional materials to live painting experiences at events. One of my favorite services is live painting at special events like weddings, corporate gatherings, and private parties. There’s something truly magical about capturing a moment in real-time with brush strokes and watching people’s reactions when they see their special day turned into a piece of art they can cherish forever.
What sets me apart from others in my field is my authenticity and versatility. I don’t rely on trends or follow formulas; every piece I create—whether it’s a film, a painting, a photograph, or an illustration—comes from a place of raw emotional honesty. My work doesn’t feel manufactured; it feels lived-in. I pull inspiration from my own life experiences, my heritage, my surroundings, and my connection to people, which allows me to create art that resonates on a very human level.
Another unique aspect of my work is that I intentionally steer clear of AI-generated art. I believe there’s something incredibly sacred about human-made art—the touch of a brush, the decision of a line, the composition of a shot. It’s those subtle imperfections and human emotions that make art alive, and I aim to keep that authenticity present in everything I do.
I also provide custom creative services for individuals, businesses, and organizations. Whether it’s designing a stunning album cover for a musician, creating illustrations for children’s books, or producing custom paintings for home or office spaces, I approach each project with the same level of passion and dedication. I also collaborate with non-profit organizations, offering live painting experiences or creating custom merchandise where a portion of proceeds go back to the community—this allows my art to serve a purpose beyond aesthetics.
Ultimately, what I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know about me and my work is that everything I create is deeply personal and genuine. Art saved my life in many ways, and now I use it to create experiences that touch the lives of others. Whether it’s through a painting that captures the energy of an event, a film that leaves you thinking long after the credits roll, or an illustration that captures the innocence of childhood, my mission is always the same: to make you feel something real.
So whether you’re looking for custom artwork, a live painting experience, film production, illustration work, or artistic storytelling, you can always count on me to deliver something original, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
I’m proud of my journey, proud of my work, and most of all, proud of the impact my art has on people. My brand is built on authenticity, passion, and human connection—and I hope that every person who encounters my work feels a little closer to those very things.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the ability to reach out and touch someone in a very intimate and personal level without being in the same room. Be able to let people open a side of them that needed to be let out, so they can laugh, cry, love, hate and even grief.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is simple, Tell the truth.
