We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mike Copeland. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mike below.
Mike, appreciate you joining us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
In life everything aligns as It should, Im a firm believer in that. Ive tried many other things in life and failed but each oppurtunity presented me with another perspective and valuable information and skills to implement in my life. From the schools I went to and the people I met, Everything and everybody has served a purpose in my journey even if It was just for a second in passing. Also with time Ive learned so much about myself personally and Im still learning everyday. I feel like my personal experiences and the knowledge Ive accumulated have molded me and my creativity to what it is today. I wouldnt change a thing about my journey or my path and the decisions Ive made. Im proud of the intention I can pour into my brand. In the words of the late Nipsey Hussle the Great.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I credit my mother for my introduction into creativity first, and fashion second. I’ve watched her turn everything she touches from nothing into something. Fashion was the first thing I noticed though, as a child I used to be in the sewing room with her being a boy but always observing. I was more interested in the dummies than anything. My love grew without my knowledge, as I began to dress my self pretty well at a Young age. I always had aspirations of owning a brand but struggled with confidence and I let that hold me back until a few years back. Then one day I found myself drawing sketches of clothing in trade school. I had been pursuing safe career choices but I always knew the life I planned to live and I couldn’t do it on a salary. I still took time to find my ideology and ethos but from that day forth my mind was made.
Gabriel Ändlös was then born. Gabriel being my middle name that I ironically got teased for growing up and “Ändlös”, a Swedish word for “endless”. It represents the endless pursuit of making your dreams tangible, the ideology that the work never stops, no matter your mental or financial situation. Whether it be to elevate or maintain it all remains the same.
Gabriel Ändlös is a fashion brand with clothing of all kinds but the focus is 1 of 1 couture statement pieces. I provide unique custom visions with outsourced materials and hand made craftsmanship. Everything is made with the clients personal style and likes in mind. I provide a solution for those who take fashion & standing out seriously as well as owning something very unique and scarce like a work of art from a painter. I few my art that way as well.
I feel like everything in fashion has been done so many times as it just continues to revolve. So the simple fact that I outsource my material and sew them does not set me apart from others. My story and my dedication to telling and spreading a positive message through my brand and the things I’m able to accomplish in this life is what separates me from the rest.
I’m most proud of thing’s we’ve accomplished so far like the places we’ve been, people we’ve met and places we’re going as well all because of an idea I didn’t think was possible. It’s the most rewarding part of the process I feel.
If it’s anything I’d like a future client to know a client of mine is family and we are bonded forever. That I designed their art with them in mind, love in my heart, For them and the art form itself. Also the pride I took inbringing their vision to life. Last but not least but Most importantly, the gratitude for the opportunity.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My brand is my voice, It is my way to reach millions at one time. I plan to use my voice to highlight the things that really matter in life, restore faith in those that have lost It and stand for something in a time when we need It most. I plan To pass on the ideologies that will ultimately make me successful, to help others avoid the pitfalls I faced on my journey. Most importantly to Motivate a generation of thinkers and doers.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I feel like in todays society as a whole we shoud just be more honest and transparent with ourselves and others. We should be honest of the journey of an entrepreneur, how challenging the road is and the work that must be done. Also support in anyway possible even if It is as small as a repost or follow It all matters. Provide funding and also not be afraid to be apart of the next “big” thing. Everything that is significant has had its white hot space and only the people can do it.
