We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mikayla Watts a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Mikayla, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?

I enjoy being a business owner. There were moments when I wondered what it would be like if I had a regular job. Sometimes managing your own business can be over whelming and no one talks about the struggles you may go through to get your name out there. However, nothing beats the flexibility of being able to manage your own schedule.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Mikayla Watts and I own two businesses – Ethereal Lash Bar and (360) Spin Booth Rentals. My services consist of lash extensions and 360 Photo Booth Rentals. I am most proud of being able to manage and maintain two different businesses.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

One thing I had to unlearn is to not let tiredness or lack of motivation stop me from getting to where I desire to be. Doing a few things a day to contribute to your business goes a long way.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

Providing high quality services, being consistent, and being myself.
