We recently connected with Mikayla Steberl and have shared our conversation below.
Mikayla, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you as a business owner?
I grew up in a place called Tri-Cities, Washington – a beautiful area in the Pacific Northwest known for its tight-knit community and beautiful nature. It was an amazing place to grow up. I started my career in broadcast television at a young age where I made my first business deals and formed partnerships with people who encouraged me and nourished my passion for business and entertainment. When opportunity came knocking, it was a tough decision to leave my family and friends. However, I knew it was the adventure I was destined to take—to move to Las Vegas and work for the greatest magician of all time.
The most meaningful part of this experience was a specific concept that altered my perception of reality forever – Real magic exists when we do things we’re told couldn’t be done. Being able to see the greatest illusions in history take place before my eyes, I learned that real magic happens the moment you are able to inspire people to push beyond their limited mindset.
Experiencing this firsthand laid the foundation for my most important life and business values: the power of imagination and testing the limits. Being told something is out of reach, or that it is impossible, defies innovation. In order to push humanity forward for the greater good, we need to be able to use our imagination to be creative. Possibilities are probable based on our ability to perceive that nothing is impossible. This became a core value of my company and its culture.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I can never truly quantify the value of the lessons I learned from working with one of the most powerful businessmen and one of the most brilliant conceptual designers in the world, and I was thankful for the opportunities that it led me to. As fate would have it, my next adventure was just as impactful to my business journey.
I happily transitioned into a new position supporting a world-renowned leadership and brand visionary as Tour Manager and Team Executive Assistant. What enticed me most was the company’s team culture and their just cause of providing a safe work environment where everyone was inspired and fulfilled by the work they did. I felt as though this was the most meaningful statement you could ever write as a company. The thought that they would even care to come up with it blew my mind and changed my thoughts on how organizations should run.
Working with such impactful people made me want no less for myself. Their lessons gave me the confidence to push myself into the unknown once again, this time to start an entirely new journey as an entrepreneur. I founded Visionary Publicity in 2022, a brand management agency with the mission to amplify the voices of those working to innovate and create a positive impact. Our purpose is to ignite conversations and explore what it means to be a visionary.
This mission has brought purpose to my life and I am so thankful that I am able to channel my past experiences to serve others and find like minded people who have the same aspirations such as testing limits and creating atmospheres that promote safety and fulfillment. What I am most proud of is the clients we serve, and I am thankful for the opportunity to help them push their imagination and bring their visions to life.
I hope to continue attracting like-minded individuals and organizations that have a visionary mindset and resonate with our brand mission in order to work together for the betterment of humanity.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I love to read and it is a big part of why I do what I do. These books are some favorites that have helped me on my self growth journey and taught me a lot about purpose, mental health, perspective, and evolving as a human.
Start with Why – How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action by Simon Sinek
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson

Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
Visionary Publicity recently worked on a political campaign and our client, Emily Stevens, WON! She is now a board member for Clark County School District A. This is one of favorite stories yet. Emily has a huge backing from city, with endorsements from the teachers, police, and labor unions. She prioritizes school safety and advocates for equitable, supportive learning environments for all students. Her mission to help improve the Clark County School District resonated deeply and inspired our team’s mission.
It was so cool to help make the vision come to life from scratch. Working on a political campaign was a high risk / high reward situation because if the client doesn’t win, you feel like your marketing or branding efforts were directly responsible. To be given the trust to create the brand and help see her to victory was satisfying and exhilarating. I cannot wait to see what else Emily does in the future, and the impact she has on the kids and the school district.
My clients are what give me the inspiration to do what I do and to keep going on this entrepreneurial journey. Working on the Emily Stevens campaign will always be a favorite.
