Mikayla, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?

I make Resin Art, Candles and Pour Paintings. I learned what I do by doing lots of research and learning from others. Knowing what I do now I could’ve speed up the learning process by asking for help sooner. The skills that I think were most essential are creativity, time management and knowledge of art materials. The obstacle that stood in the way of learning more was time management.

Hi, My name is Mikayla Myers. I am a artist and radio show host from Columbia, SC. I’ve been a artist for 2 years now. I make Resin Art, organic candles and pour paintings. It’s my passion and something I love to do. It started out as a hobby. Then, family and friends gave me the idea to turn my passion into a business. I named the business “Divine Creations By Mikayla Clifton”. What makes my business different is that the art I make is one of a kind and unique. I am also a Radio Show Host for WDRBMEDIA where I have my own platform to talk about whatever I want. The name of my show is called “Grind Vibe Flow Radio Show”. I’ve been a host for 6 months and I love it. I use my platform to bring exposure to small businesses and independent artists. I love helping people.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

I think society could do lots to support artists and creatives. Society could start by buying up incoming artists artwork, go to their shows, follow them on social media and share their work with others.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

A particular goal that I have is to work for myself Full-time. I would love to wake up create art and help people get closer to their dreams while I also do the same.
