We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mika Toussaint. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mika below.
Mika, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
One of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken was moving to Dallas, Texas, without knowing a single person. I made the decision after the passing of my mother—a moment that marked a profound death and rebirth in my life. At the time, I was living in Los Angeles, but the city no longer felt like home. I felt disconnected, and I knew I needed a fresh start—spiritually, emotionally, and professionally.
So, I packed up and moved to Dallas with nothing but faith in my vision. I didn’t have a safety net, family nearby, or a strong professional network. I started working at a jewelry store to cover my basic needs, and in the evenings and weekends, I worked part-time at a local aesthetics studio. Slowly but surely, I began building my business—one client at a time.
I networked, hustled, stayed up late, and showed up early. I gave facials, promoted my services, and poured my heart into every detail. There were moments of uncertainty, loneliness, and exhaustion—but also moments of clarity, growth, and purpose. I built my business, Dallas Pro Aesthetics, from scratch—through blood, sweat, and tears.
That risk—leaving everything familiar behind to start over—taught me that sometimes the biggest leaps of faith lead to the most beautiful chapters of your life. Today, I have a thriving business, a growing community, and a sense of alignment that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Mika, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My journey into the beauty and wellness industry started with my own struggles with hormonal acne. I was searching for answers, tired of quick fixes, and desperate for real healing. So I enrolled in aesthetics school—not just to treat others, but to become my own solution. While there, I learned one of the most powerful lessons: true beauty and healing begin within. That revelation led me to become a certified health and wellness coach, diving deeper into nutrition, weight management, gut health, and the mind-body connection.
I merged both passions—holistic skincare and wellness coaching—to create a signature approach that treats my clients from the inside out. That’s how Dallas Pro Aesthetics was born. We offer customized skincare treatments, consultations, and wellness tools designed to help our clients not only look good, but feel their absolute best.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just treat skin—I treat the whole person. I listen, I ask questions, and I walk with my clients through their entire journey. I’m not interested in “one and done” appointments. I provide long-term solutions, education, and support. In addition to facials and skincare services, I’ve created holistic tools like my Aura + Meditation Spray and my self-care journal “Creating My Happy”, because I believe in nurturing the spirit just as much as the skin.
My background is deeply rooted in customer service. I once worked in the corporate offices of Skechers in Manhattan Beach as an administrative assistant in their customer service department—bringing sunshine to the office while also managing reports, food orders, coffee runs, and client support. I’ve worked in retail, service, and wellness. All of it taught me how to show up for people with integrity, grace, and excellence. I treat my clients like family, and I prioritize making them feel seen, heard, and cared for every single time they walk through my door.
What I’m most proud of is that I get to be fully myself while doing what I love. I don’t have to pretend. I get to turn my own personal healing journey into hope for someone else. I get to empower others through authenticity, love, and care—and in return, I attract the right clients who value the same things. My brand is more than skin deep. It’s about transformation, connection, and creating safe spaces where people can glow from the inside out.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about me and my work—it’s that this is truly my purpose. I don’t just do skincare. I create experiences that support your whole well-being. I’m here to serve, to support, and to help people feel beautiful, balanced, and confident in every area of their life.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the mindset of being an employee. Transitioning into entrepreneurship meant I had to completely shift how I viewed responsibility, leadership, and self-motivation. For years, I supported other people’s businesses. I was the behind-the-scenes helper, the one who made sure things ran smoothly for others.
When I started my own business, Dallas Pro Aesthetics, I realized quickly that I couldn’t carry that same mindset into my new role. I had to step into the identity of a CEO. That meant using the skills I gained as an employee—systems, service, organization—and turning that energy inward. I had to be the one to build, to lead, to initiate. No one was going to give me permission or direction anymore. I had to give that to myself.
One of the hardest parts was learning how to work on my business instead of just working in it. I love what I do so much that I would find myself stuck in the treatment room all day, but neglecting the vision, the growth, and the strategy. As a solo entrepreneur, I’m wearing all the hats, but I’ve had to intentionally create space for planning, rest, and expansion.
Even something as simple as giving myself a day off took time to adjust to. I used to feel guilty for resting—until I reminded myself that I’m the boss now. I get to create the structure, the flow, and the balance that supports my well-being and my business success.
It wasn’t about completely discarding everything I learned as an employee. It was about transforming those lessons—applying them in a new way and learning to trust myself to lead. I’m still evolving, still learning, and still growing—but I’ve come a long way in stepping fully into my role as a founder.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
One of the ways I stay connected with my clients and nurture brand loyalty is through intentional communication and genuine relationship-building. I’ve invested a lot of time into building my client database—through networking, vendor events, social media, and simply showing up in my community. That database has become a powerful foundation for lasting connections.
While I may not see every client on a regular basis—because life has seasons, and so do skincare needs—I make sure the relationship doesn’t end at the appointment. I stay in touch through newsletters that go beyond promotions. I share what’s going on in my business, personal reflections, helpful tips, seasonal skincare advice, wellness reminders, and updates they can actually use. This way, even if we don’t see each other often, we never lose touch.
Email gives me a direct line to my clients—so even if social media were to disappear tomorrow, I’d still be able to reach the people who matter most to my business. And more importantly, they can always reach out to me.
For me, it’s deeper than just offering services—it’s about being a consistent resource. Whether they need skincare guidance, nutritional insight, emotional support, or simply a reminder that someone sees and cares about them, my clients know they can count on me. We’re building more than skin—this is about trust, care, and community.
At the end of the day, we’re family. Once we connect, we’re locked in for life.
