We were lucky to catch up with Miguelina Almarante recently and have shared our conversation below.
Miguelina, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Our business is fairly new to the world as we launched the idea /brand on instagram this year ! I got into the food industry in the beginning of 2020 as a prep cook. Plantitas is more than just a food & drink service. We are a brand that strives for greatness in health and serves with the highest love frequency. My craft is a bit eclectic as we also collaborate our hispanic culture into our creative dishes. We are here for all the health support we can provide . If any of our supporters have health concerns or questions we do our best to educate and guide them through their journey with no judgment in mind. The health journey is not a one way road, so we speak life and love to anyone open for the best guidance we can provide. What sets us apart from others is our positive and loving energy! We are passionate to bring cultural dishes to our community with the remix of colorful healthy options! We don’t focus only on saying we are plant based/vegan providers, we do love playing with our foods ! We enjoy textures, and flavors.we are proud to be able to serve the health community with all of our playful ideas, we want them to know that this brand is built from love, passion and a self journey! This is for the families and future star seeds that want to continue a lifestyle of difference from what their previous generations promoted! We are here to break the generational chains/ cycles in health and raise those vibrations! Plantitas loves to share and we want to share all the goods with food and health through colors and great vibez ! We enjoy presenting the many beautiful options this natural way of living can bring and offer to our lives. We cater to families and especially children because they are the future !!!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My resilience story started once I transitioned out my social services line of work 2020. I decided to take an opportunity as a prep cook in a vegan restaurant. Having a high pay and adjusting to a restaurant salary was a big change for me! It was a bit hard to adjust at first but this risk gave me much more than I expected. I retained my outlook & balanced out the pay with the experience I would be gaining in the field. I figured it was my way of investing in me and my journey for the purpose of my brand. I wanted to grow personally so that I could eventually pour that into my own business one day ! I stayed committed to the company for almost two years until I was given an opportunity for a better position elsewhere. That new kitchen raised my confidence , salary but more education! Once in this environment , it motivated me to continue my craft and applied myself into culinary school for the plant based /holistic program. Balancing a full time job , managing a kitchen , culinary school while also being a mother and spouse it sure is not an easy task! I believe that pushing yourself within your set limits is worth it for what you love!

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn was to stop being so behind the scenes! I had to allow myself to let others see my passion & creativity! I had to be open to all the critics and not only expect good feedback , I had to be ok with not everyone liking or approving who i am or what i do. I have learned it’s ok! I am glad that I am able to be my authentic self and do what I am passionate about in front of the world. I am proud to share my health journey with the masses within my unic attributes. I am open to knowing that it will take time to gain more supporters , therefore I have allowed myself to experience being uncomfortable at times !
