Miguel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? The world needs to hear more realistic, actionable stories about this critical part of the business building journey. Tell us your scaling up story – bring us along so we can understand what it was like making the decisions you had, implementing the strategies/tactics etc.
In the beginning I was unemployed and without any other option of a decent salary. I had no choice but to undertake on my own and start my own business. I soon realized that no one was going to offer me my dream job, my dream job had to be built by myself. So I started with very low prices, I practically gave away my work, because I was obsessed with having clients. He accepted them all and as a result he did not stop working. I had managed to stop working 8 hours for an employer and was now working 24 hours for myself. It was terrible, I didn’t have time for my own growth and I also didn’t have a lot of money due to my low budgets. After several setbacks that almost bankrupted me, I understood that not all clients were good. I couldn’t accept everyone. It was then that I decided to put toxic clients aside: that typical client who asks you for a discount for everything and does not value your work. I decided to tell them no. I took the risk and lost 80% of my clients, who were not willing to pay me for my services. I only kept 20% of my client portfolio. They were entrepreneurs and artists loyal to my results who did value my work. I decided to focus on them, I decided to delve deeply into their business problems and make an advanced study of each market and offer each one a VIP experience of great value. It was a difficult and risky process, but by concentrating on a few, I achieved better results and better quality and efficiency in my personalized services, which opened a new path for me to a new number of clients willing to pay the right price for my work. Long-term result: I grew as a company and as an entrepreneur just like my most focused clients did. I managed to grow and establish myself better economically as a Filmmaker owner of a marketing and advertising business and I gained much more time for myself and my family.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Miguel A Sarduy and I am a graduate of Radio, Film and Television Direction at the University of the Arts (ISA) in Havana, Cuba in 2018. After graduating from the University of the Arts in Film Directing, I decided to emigrate to the United States to look for better job opportunities, but I did not find the opportunities I was looking for. So I had no choice but to create my own long-awaited dream job. It was then that I founded NEW ORDER FILM; a broadcasting and media production company. We currently offer a fully personalized VIP service to different entrepreneurs and businessmen within Miami and Latin America, helping them grow with their brand and build their own personal brand. We are a Boutique: a professional company specialized in content creation (photo and video) Experts in digital marketing (network management, advertising campaigns, social media manager, web page design, online sales, branding, facebook business, google add and google analytics) with more than 5 years of experience in the United States market.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
When you don’t manage large budgets to compete in the internet market against the big established brands you have no choice but to do physical networking. That is the best strategy to get new clients: face to face. You have to attend all possible events with the mentality of an entrepreneur capable of adding value to the lives of the people around you at all times. Wherever you go, be it a public event or a family party, you can find a potential client that meets your standards of demand and quality. It’s just a matter of activating the button of your social life and rubbing shoulders all the time with interesting people with whom you can do business in the future. For this, the first impression is very important. If you manage to get to this point and keep working on strengthening your professional relationships based on mutual respect, it is only a matter of time before other clients begin to come to you by recommendation. It is at this precise moment that a funnel of clients is created that begins to flow in a healthy and sustainable way towards your company, allowing you greater development and, in turn, generating the opportunity to create better and personalized value content for each client. The growth of each client increases the growth of your business with excellent results in the short or long term. At this point of healthy development we are changing lives.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
It’s always important to stay in touch with customers after the closing of a successful deal or campaign. In my personal case, I use email and phone calls to find out about the company’s progress or any unresolved problem they have. At the same time, I inform them about new trends and study how to help them solve the problem they have at that moment. I offer possible short-term and long-term solutions. I always let the client choose their plan, that’s why I offer various solutions. I try to be essential for the development of my associated brands. I focus on your wishes and aspirations as well as your ideal clients. That’s the treatment for building a healthy alliance with potential customers and creating lasting loyalty with the brands we’re committed to helping grow.
