We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Miesha Henderson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Miesha , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
One of the most meaningful things I’ve done to show customer appreciation was hosting a Sisters Empowerment Luncheon for the women in my community that has supported an event, sponsored or have become a member of our community.
In my sister’s empowerment business, the women we serve are often the ones everyone else depends on, the caregivers, the mother, the wife, the leaders, the strong ones. They’re used to pouring into others but rarely get that same level of care poured back into them. I wanted to change that, even if just for a day!
Instead of a typical “thank you,” I created an experience centered around them. I hosted an intimate luncheon where every detail was intentional:
The atmosphere was designed to feel safe, elevated, and peaceful—a space where they could exhale
We shared real conversations and stories, not just surface-level networking.
I included thoughtful touches like small gifts and affirmations to reinforce their worth as well as breast cancer pins because some of our women in the group are breast cancer survivors.
What made this so powerful is that it wasn’t transactional, it was personal. It showed that I truly see them, not just as customers, but as women with stories, struggles, and strengths that matter. Women became emotional, opened up, and connected with each other in a genuine way.

Miesha , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m the founder of Sister Empowerment Movement and a Master Certified Life Coach, dedicated to helping individuals heal, grow, and elevate from the inside out.
My journey began in October 2018, hosting small, intimate group sessions in my home focused on confidence, self-worth, and personal development. What started as simple conversations quickly evolved into a growing movement as I witnessed women begin to transform, rebuilding their confidence, shifting their mindset, and stepping into their power.
That experience led me to expand into empowerment events, networking experiences, and transformational spaces designed to create real, lasting change. Today, Sisters Empowerment Movement has grown into a platform that blends coaching, community, and curated experiences that focus on mindset, healing, and elevation.
As a Master Certified Life Coach, I go beyond motivation, I help people do the inner work needed to shift their mindset, overcome internal blocks, and build lasting confidence. My work addresses challenges such as self-doubt, lack of direction, emotional barriers, and feeling stuck in life.
What sets my work apart is its authenticity. Everything I teach comes from lived experience, and I create spaces that are both safe and transformational, where people feel seen, supported, and challenged to grow.
I’m most proud of the impact that we have made, witnessing real breakthroughs, restored confidence, and lasting personal change. As the movement continues to grow, my vision is to expand globally, welcoming both women and men into experiences that inspire healing, growth, and true elevation.
At its core, Sister Empowerment Movement is more than a brand—it’s a call to evolve into your highest self!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One of the biggest tests of my resilience came during the COVID-19 pandemic. Up until that point, my work through Sisters Empowerment Movement was built around in-person connection, hosting retreats, conferences, and intimate gatherings where women could come together, heal, and grow.
When everything shut down, I had a decision to make. I could either pause and wait for things to “go back to normal,” or I could adapt and continue showing up for the women who needed those spaces more than ever.
I chose to adapt.
I transitioned into hosting virtual sessions and Zoom meetings, creating a space where women could still connect, be supported, and continue their personal growth. Even in the middle of uncertainty and isolation. It wasn’t easy. There were challenges with engagement, technology, and even my own moments of doubt, but I stayed committed to the mission.
At the same time, I didn’t let go of the bigger vision. As things began to open back up, I stepped right back into hosting retreats and conferences, stronger and more intentional than before. That season taught me how to pivot, how to lead through uncertainty, and how to remain consistent even when everything around me was changing.
It showed me that this isn’t just something I do when it’s convenient to me, this is something I’m called to do, no matter the circumstances.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe what’s helped me build my reputation within my market is consistency, authenticity, and real impact.
From the very beginning, I showed up, whether it was hosting small sessions in my home, organizing events, retreats, and conferences, or even pivoting to virtual Zoom meetings during COVID. I stayed committed to the mission, no matter the circumstances.
Authenticity has also been key. I don’t present a perfect version of growth, I share real experiences, real challenges, and real transformation. That relatability allows people to truly connect and trust the process.
But more than anything, it’s the impact. Not only have women experienced personal breakthroughs, but this community has also created lasting friendships and genuine connections. People aren’t just attending events, they’re building relationships, finding support systems, and becoming part of something bigger than themselves.
I’ve built my reputation not just on what I say, but on what people experience and what they continue to carry with them long after they leave.
