Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Midwest Saloon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Midwest , thanks for joining us today. One of the toughest things about entrepreneurship is that there is almost always unexpected problems that come up – problems that you often can’t read about in advance, can’t prepare for, etc. Have you had such and experience and if so, can you tell us the story of one of those unexpected problems you’ve encountered?
One of the most unexpected problems we have faced is finding that people are not true to their word. In Kansas City it’s hard to find people to do what they say they will regardless to if you are paying or not. It’s come to a point with MIDWEST SALOON if we want something done we must learn to do it ourselves. In a way it’s become an advantage because we are learning so much more outside of just being the artist. We are learning production, engineering, among many other things; however, the con is sometimes you do just want to be an artist and you can’t. We set appts and collaborators either do not show up or don’t show up on time. It seems like people here will use you and will literally try and take everything you have, and once they are done you don’t hear from them. People here for the business that we are involved in are very shady, and that is something I didn’t expect. I expected more support from local KC, and it’s just not there

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Midwest Saloon big motto is “Addicted To KICKIN It. We are a fun loving high energy duo ready to take on the world. The most important part of MWS is we don’t like to be put into boxes, we like to be completely free. We experiment with different genres of music all the time. We consider ourselves Artist not rappers. One of our biggest topics is coming from going through the motions to becoming the ruler and the master of your fate. We are dreamers, and without a dream or a vision we believe you have nothing. Our music mirrors, struggle in daily life, and relationships, but also can be motivational, and energetic. MWS is everything. Our name starts with Midwest because that is where we are from however the Saloon came from the idea of spontaneity. You never know what you are going to get when you get to the saloon. You never know who you are going to meet, or what you are going to see. There have been many smiles, tears, and cheers in the saloon. Just about every walk of life has been through there and that is exactly what we want and what we want to inspire. We want to give the world a getaway in whatever way they need it, step into our saloon and let us serve you the lyrics, or the energy that will inebriate your spirit, and move your soul. MWS is the way to go. Our goals are to be one of the highest selling, most inspiring and energetic groups of our time. We are Rockstars all the way, but we want to prove to ourselves that we can be on top. The very best in the world. We want to see the world through the vibrations of our music and through the eyes of our fans. We love what we do. Our brand is hard hitting , heart felt, punchy music , and we are very multi genre. We are for the people who like a little bit of everything. We are for people who love FUN. We are here for all the underdogs,. We are here for everybody who was told that they couldn’t and believed it. The biggest point I guess I’m trying to make is that “we are here”.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
We have been doing music for a long time, NAZZZTae and MerLow the two members of the group are both products of broken homes. We both have different strengths and weaknesses, NAZZZTAE in specific has a problem with confidence and believing in his vision. A vision that he’s knows to be real and true. Until he met his manager. A woman who managed MWS for about two years or so. She gave MWS a boost we never had. A go getter mentality, an invest, and believe in yourself energy; however, due to differences in vision we had to part ways. It was very rough on us and NAZZZTAE in specific felt lost once again. He felt like he couldn’t do it, but MerLow and Nazzztae are really the perfect match. Where NAZZZTAE LACKS MERLOW ATTACKS and vice versa, not attacking each other but the world. Because of this we were able to bounce back and continue everything that we learned from that manager, and we are doing better than ever. MerLow is exactly what his name depicts. He is the more patient, and easy going half where as NAZZZTAE can be a bit rough around the edges. In this industry you definitely need both

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
NAZZZTAE and MerLow actually meet in college. There was originally one different member of MWS, originally there was NAZZZTAE and another group member. MERLOW was actually supposed to be the DJ however that never really panned out, being that he was a really good friend and shared a passion for music he became a vocal artist. There were three members of MIDWEST SALOON, after a couple months that third member disappeared and now all that remains are the most passionate NAZZZTAE and MERLOW,. Two friends who started out just Artist to mixing, mastering, and producing music videos. MWS has come a long way but It’s definitely worth the hard work. ANYTHING heard from MWS was more then likely produced through and through by MWS
