I am building so that my children and childrens , children can have a solid foundation of business and finances for years to come, investments, property , charitable gifts and giving back to humanity.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
Chef Shell’s passion and love for my family and the people in my community, has encouraged me to bring joy to them through food and cooking. The recipes I have were given to me from my Granny Mary Lee Tyler, Aunt Gussie, and Grandma Penn. I consider everyone who has Dr. Shells Soul Food Cooking friends and family, so I feel that I’m blessed to share my gifts with you all. I provide catering services, private chef services and weekly soul food delivery

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I actually built my social media audience organically. I did not pay for any followers I just post regularly and engage with my audience. My daughter did assist me with engagement, using hashtags, posting times , changing my branding videos and flyers and learning to ask for likes, shares and follows. I also do a yearly give back for my birthday with products, i.e. my seasoning, my cookbook or apron or a weekly meal give away for the entire month of April to celebrate my clients and show them I appreciate the support
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When the pandemic hit I had to pivot my model to delivery and I supported the essential workers, Those who work late evenings, over night etc. They need to eat and I love to feed them. It change my business both financially and gave me a sense of pride to know I help in the way that I love by using my skills and passion for cooking,
