Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Michelle Roberson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Michelle, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I have a love for designing. I went to school for interior design. But it can be impersonal sometimes. I saw a billboard sign about a wedding show. I thought, how could I incorporate design with weddings? So I made an investment and signed up for the show. I had no idea what I was in for. On the day of the wedding show I had so many vendors wanting to know who I was. I actually won the best booth in the show. It was like I was finally home I started with my couples for weddings. I wanted to hear there story. How they met, Nick names , what they had in common. After reading there stories, I would create a wedding that was personal to them a a couple. I was amazed at how much they would enjoy this. I truly believe that we all have a certain talent. If we use that talent, you have endless possibilities! My business is truly about heart! My clients and mine!
Michelle, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have been called the macgyver of weddings. What you may see as impossible, I see as a challenge.. That is why I named my business Improvisions Of Grace. My father was a marine, he would always tell me improvise, adapt, and overcome. The Grace is for my little sheltie. She is the light of my life. I don’t give up easy,
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Business is business. Your competitors are not your friends. You can share too much information with your competitors. I had to learn to keep my ideas to myself. If you are unique, protect that quality!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I have built my business on my own. I have lost family members, struggled through the loss of business from covid, kidnapped for a long period of time, and I refuse to let these things control my success.
