We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Michelle Reynoso and Aya Hasegawa. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Michelle below.
Michelle and Aya, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Our mission at Nourished ATX is deeply rooted in our belief that food is the foundation of health and well-being. We understand that many individuals are striving to nourish their bodies but face challenges in finding options that align with their dietary needs and values. By offering food that is free from common inflammatory ingredients and made with integrity—gluten-free, dairy-free, seed oil free, organic, and pasture-raised—we aim to provide a solution that empowers people to thrive.
This mission is important to us because we see food as more than just sustenance; it’s a tool for healing, energy, and connection. We want to make it easier for health-driven individuals to make choices they feel good about, knowing their food supports their goals and values. Ultimately, we’re here to promote a lifestyle that’s not just about avoiding what’s harmful but embracing what’s truly nourishing.”
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We believe our career in holistic culinary arts has been driven by a passion for the profound connection between food and well-being. We both began our journey by studying the principles of nutrition and how whole, natural ingredients can support overall health. Through hands-on experience at farm-to-table restaurants, we developed our expertise in crafting meals that not only delight the palate, but also align with specific dietary needs, while creating relationships with local growers.
Over the years, we have honed our skills for private clients with dietary restrictions. In creating recipes that are gluten-free, dairy-free, and free from processed ingredients, we focus on organic and sustainably sourced foods. This holistic approach reflects our commitment to using food as a tool for healing and nourishment, and recognizing its impact on physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
We both felt that Austin needed more access to quick, on-the-go, healthy food. That is how the idea of the food trailer came about. We wanted to share our knowledge and serve clean meals to health-driven individuals.
What truly sets us apart is our holistic approach. We don’t just remove harmful ingredients; we prioritize including ingredients that actively support health and well-being. Our focus on sustainable and thoughtfully sourced food ensures that every product not only supports individual health, but also aligns with a commitment to the planet.
For health-driven individuals, we’re more than a food provider—we’re a trusted partner on their journey to living well, making it easier to choose foods that fuel their body, mind, and soul without compromise.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
When Aya moved to Austin in 2019, she was transitioning into a new chapter of her career and taking over my personal clients, as she prepared to work full-time for a family. From the very beginning, we clicked. What started as a professional connection quickly grew into a friendship as we discovered how much we had in common—not just professionally, but in our backgrounds, values, and vision for life.
Our shared passion for holistic living, and nourishing others became the foundation of our partnership. Together, we realized that our combined strengths and aligned goals could create something special, which ultimately led to the creation of Nourished ATX.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building an online presence for Nourished ATX is deeply tied to our commitment to community and connection. We’ve networked extensively, offering discount codes to encourage people to experience our gut-friendly products, and collaborating with local influencers who share our values.
In addition to our online efforts, we’ve partnered with other local businesses and organized community events–like themed dinners and wellness markets. These events allow us to connect with our audience in person, fostering relationships and creating shared experiences that reflect our mission.
Through these combined efforts—both online and in the local community—we’ve established a presence that’s more than just a business; it’s a movement toward healthier, more intentional living.
