We were lucky to catch up with Michelle Quiroz recently and have shared our conversation below.
Michelle , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Ever since I was a little girl. I have always loved to paint, draw, and design things. It kinda ended up being something i picked as a career. I have gotten to work with all types of brands and agencies.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I first started working for Dallas magazine as a Media development intern. I got to work on some amazing projects and dip my feet into the design industry. After D magazine I worked designing social media content for Raising canes, and later on became Creative Director for Rubcorp LLC. I wanted to take some time for myself in 2021 so I left my job and tried my hand at murals which I loved doing! I got to paint 5 murals and also worked a bit with Parker University as a production artist. I now work as a Mechanical Designer for TIGI.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I want to some day be able to have my own business or learn from these experiences and find New opportunities to create.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I think society can start to see artist as valuable assets. A lot of people don’t see it as a career or take us seriously.
