Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Michelle Naumovski. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Michelle , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

Having a pet with issues and not being able to find a solution is what drove me to find a way to solve the problem. Having a dog with reactivity, aggression & behavioral tendencies is what got me started making leash sleeves. I wanted something durable, noticeable, affordable, multi use as well as the option to be used unilaterally on a variety of leashes. The wheels started turning. Prototypes were made, improvements to the design over time then voila my vision took shape and has only been improving since. All the while giving back to pet rescues and shelters all over.

Michelle , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

As a real estate agent by day, I’ve always been a problem solver so when an issue came up with my dog and I wasn’t able to find a solution I was happy with, I designed my own. I wanted something noticeable from a distance and eye catching, I wanted something that could be used on all sorts of pets, something that could be used no matter what type of leash you were using and something that would definitely make a statement. I created Leash Sleeves to help pet parents all over no matter what type of issue you were experiencing whether it be good, bad or anything in between or even just to show off your pets personality. I wanted it to be something you would definitely use time and time again. What sets my product apart from others is its universal ease of use. The ability to be worn 2 ways on a leash being double sided. The ability to customize, the large lettering makes it stand out from a distance along with eye catching colors to match any pet, collar, leash, harness or attire. But not only did I want to make a quality product, I wanted to be able to get rescue and adoptable pets noticed quickly so that could get into their forever homes. By donating leash sleeves to rescues and shelters from all our sales helps those available pets and pups find their way into their new families lives faster.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

My product is made is Michigan. All Leash sleeves are sewn by hand, carefully crafted with a branded grommet, customized lettering & a heavy duty carabiner to keep the leash in place are all added to make our leash sleeve a one of a kind. With its patented design, its a beautiful addition to any leash.

While many others make something comparable, what makes ours stand out is our patented design keeping it in place on your leash whether you use it high or low on a leash sleeve. Ours does not slide around or be overly bulky. Its eye catching lettering stops others in their tracks to either let them know “Keep Distance” or just a chuckle by “Single & Ready to Mingle”.

So while others can offer something similar its the statement ours makes by the versatility in every aspect of the design, the quality of construction, the vibrancy of the material colors use, the lightweight feel and the need for multiples to show off your pets personality.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

A lesson I had to learn was to not worry what everyone else was doing but to always keep my vision moving forward. That vision was to help pets and pet parents all over bring awareness to whatever the situation or issue was going on so that pets could still continue leading a normal or somewhat normal life.

I had to learn that while everyone wants something done cheaply, cheap isn’t always best. You get what you pay for.

I had to learn to do what was best in keeping my vision moving forward and always continuing to strive to help pet parents all over.
