Have you ever had to pivot?
Absolutely, there was a significant moment in my career when I had to make a major pivot. It was after the tragic events of 9/11. At that time, I was working at The Mirage, and like so many others in the hospitality and casino industry, I faced the impact of the downturn in tourism and travel.
The Mirage let me go, and I found myself at a crossroads. I decided to take a temporary position at The Hard Rock, which was a different experience from what I was used to. However, during this period of transition, I had a lot of time for reflection. I realized that I wanted more out of my career and my life.
It was during this challenging time that I had a moment of clarity – I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I knew that my passion and skills could be channeled into a different avenue that would provide more control and fulfillment. It became clear to me that I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life working in a casino environment.
So, I took what appeared to be a negative turn in my career and pivoted it into a positive opportunity in life by venturing into real estate. It wasn’t an easy decision, and there were challenges along the way, but it was the best decision I ever made. It allowed me to tap into my entrepreneurial spirit and use my customer service, relationship-building, and networking skills in a new and exciting way.
This pivot was a transformative experience in my career and life. It taught me that sometimes, setbacks can lead to unexpected and positive opportunities. Well, I’ve had the privilege of working as a Casino Marketing Executive and VIP Service Manager at The Mirage in Las Vegas and Sales Executive for the developers of Panorama Towers, and I believe several factors have helped me build a strong reputation within my market.
First and foremost, exceptional customer service has been at the core of my approach. In the casino industry, as a VIP Service Manager, and in the luxury real estate market, delivering outstanding service is non-negotiable. Clients, whether high rollers or luxury homebuyers, expect the best, and I’m dedicated to exceeding their expectations.
Building and nurturing relationships has been another key element. Whether it’s with high-value players in the casino world or discerning real estate buyers, trust is vital. My ability to create strong connections with clients has been a defining aspect of my reputation.
My deep industry knowledge has also played a significant role. In both the casino and real estate sectors, understanding the nuances, trends, and intricacies is critical. Being able to provide clients with well-informed advice has helped me stand out among my peers.
