We were lucky to catch up with Michelle Lee, MD recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle, thanks for joining us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
In my early career in corporate medicine, the expectation was to see 40 patients on a daily basis and expedite surgeries, which left little room for thorough patient care. This environment left me feeling burnt out and disillusioned, and I was beginning to lose touch with my passion.
A pivotal shift occurred when I realized that my discontent with my current circumstance was not a sentence, but an opportunity for innovation. So I decided to forge my own path. I founded my practice, PERK Plastic Surgery, as an aesthetics clinic that better aligned with my values and aspirations. I have learned that embracing dissatisfaction as a catalyst for change is when true innovation thrives. By challenging the confines of corporate medicine, I came to the realization that I possess the power to shape my own reality.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Dr. Michelle Lee, founder of PERK Plastic Surgery, is a Harvard-trained and board-certified plastic surgeon renowned for her expertise in surgical and nonsurgical facial aesthetics. How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
