We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Michelle Leagans Todero. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Michelle below.
Michelle , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
I love sharing action shots and photography from my dance intensives with the dancers and their families. When we have a guest photographer, we adore seeing the dancers shine in their classes and including the families in their success. We provide these photos free of charge so they can enjoy the hard work and fun happening at every intensive. It is incredible seeing everyone’s reaction to the photos.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Power Intensives is going on its 9th season and provides dance education for dancers all across the state of Texas. Our mission is to provide an inspiring and energetic atmosphere that makes everyone feel safe and motivated. We bring in teachers from across the country to share their amazing talents, stories, and choreography.
On the other side of my job is drill team and studio choreography. I travel to 60 high schools a year to create competition pieces and teach master classes. Choreography has always been my true passion and I love sharing this joy with dancers across the state.
I’m also a published author. I wrote “Hey Dancers…Let’s Talk About It!” To open
conversations with dancers, parents, and teachers.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
The dance industry is very competitive. When I first started teaching, my goal was to create the best dances possible! Through that goal, I started building relationships with schools, directors, and other educators. These relationships are how I began my company and how I have built it over the past 9 years. Being passionate and dedicated to these relationships is why my reputation has grown. Yes, I always want to produce award- winning dances, but I cherish the friendships I am making along the way!

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I use social media as my main way of communication. I love using a mailing list to promote sales, upcoming classes, and new instructors. This past year we created an ambassador program where 4 dancers received a full year scholarship. This has helped spread the word on our company and reach out to current and new clients. Using linktree to keep everything in a concise format has also been helpful as well. Communication is the key to sharing who I am as a teacher and the mission my company hopes to provide.
