We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Michelle Enjoli. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Michelle below.
Michelle, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
My business idea came to me as a result of several defining moments for me professionally and personally. The first was when I moved to Atlanta in 2015 as a result of a company relocation that left many of my former colleagues and me struggling to find new career opportunities and/or having to make tough decisions about our futures. Once I made the move, I had a few encounters where I realized that there was a large gap in the professional development space that wasn’t being served. The company I was working for was now comprised of a multigenerational and multicultural workforce in a way that never existed before and so I decided to find a unique way to serve professionals looking to navigate this environment and grow professionally. I developed a curriculum based on an entrepreneurial mindset that is comprised of frameworks designed to help professionals fully own their career development and growth like they would their own business. I felt this would really resonate with others due to the rapid pace of change in the business environment and the need to consistently network and develop yourself to evolve. As someone who has worked for companies with an employee count of 5 to over 80,000, I understand the complex environment and challenges many professionals face. I have used my experience and research to guide professionals to define success for themselves and help them get there.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I was introduced to the career development space after a few lightbulb moments where I saw an increasingly large problem not being effectively solved. I saw professionals of all generations and cultures face difficulties with networking, personal branding, and self-esteem in business environments. I decided to begin researching and building a curriculum based on an entrepreneurial mindset. I created a set of frameworks as a baseline to help professionals learn how to network, personally brand themselves, and find their unique value proposition in order to identify and accomplish their career goals. My goal is to help my clients fully own their career development and growth like they would their own businesses. I offer one on one coaching programs for individuals, group workshops, and keynote speeches for organizations on these topics. My unique upbringing as the daughter of immigrants, learning English as a second language, growing up connected to an extremely diverse community, and my career pivots have helped me understand the challenges different groups face and how best to solve them.
I am most proud of the way I’ve been able to connect people to others but most importantly to themselves. I am a connector by nature and have found via my personal experience that the most important connection to consistently make is with yourself first. I proudly built a program that helps others understand their power and uncover the magic they uniquely possess. This is a critical step in achieving their goals. Once this is accomplished, the world is theirs.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I have successfully pivoted a few times in my career after I wanted continuous career growth or there was a need to make a change. I started my career as a television producer, pivoted into marketing, and then into career development.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What has always helped me build my reputation within each space was my dedication to learning as much as possible about each area, understanding my unique value proposition, transferring those skills to the new area, building and consistently developing a valuable personal brand, and being a connector. Knowing how to build connections with others is the key to career growth and development and something I recommend every person should master to achieve their goals.
