We recently connected with Michelle Curry and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Michelle thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Hi, my name is Michelle Curry. I’m a licensed Public Adjuster and I work for a firm that is licensed in 48 states.
My journey started when I had an insurance claim on my home prior to becoming a Public Adjuster. I thought I had the best insurance policy because I was paying a high yearly premium, boy was I wrong and was left stuck with a $5000 deductible that I wasn’t educated about on my policy by my agent. This situation left me financially in shambles as a single mother at that time. I realized that the insurance company wasn’t looking out for my family and I felt lost. I didn’t understand my rights under the insurance law and didn’t know there was advocates that help policyholders called Public Adjusters until over a year later.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Fast forward 2yrs later and married, I made the decision that I never wanted hardworking people, like myself, to go through what I went through. Therefore, I went through schooling and became a licensed Public Adjuster. A lot of people in rhe community don’t know that we existence and our team is trying to change that. We educate and advocate for property owners, both residential and commercial. We are the equivalent of an auto accident attorney but for your property.
My team and I love advocating for hardworking people. Every penny count these days, especially with the shrinkage of the middle class happening. People have the right to know that have advocates ready to fight for their interests.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think our culture, integrity, and work ethic is helping to build our reputation. The number one business method is referrals because because word of mouth can make or break a company. We understand that we won’t be able to please everyone all of the time, but we do our jobs to the best of our ability up to the letter of the law and our clients’ policies by giving transparency.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of getting new clients is definitely social media. It’s been an explosion of new businesses advertising on TikTok, Facebook, etc. This is the new wave of marketing businesses.
