Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Michel’le Burns. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Michel’le, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on was a video tribute to Rosa Lee Gerald—an incredible woman whose legacy has had a lasting impact on healthcare in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina. The project, titled Discover the Powerful Legacy of Rosa Lee Gerald, was created to honor her advocacy, her leadership, and her role in shaping CareSouth Carolina.
I had the opportunity to bring her family together, capture their stories, and hear firsthand the memories, laughter, and deep admiration they still hold for Ms. Gerald. Being in the room as they recalled her unwavering commitment to healthcare access and human dignity was an incredibly powerful experience. You could truly feel how deeply she was loved and how far-reaching her work still is today.
I took great pride in producing, filming, and editing every part of that project. It wasn’t just a video—it was a piece of history, a preserved legacy, and a reminder of what one person can do for an entire community.

Michel’le, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi, I’m Michel’le—a Multimedia Specialist, creative entrepreneur, and passionate storyteller with a heart for community, culture, and content that connects. I earned my degree in Mass Communications with a minor in Journalism from Coastal Carolina University in 2014. My journey into this industry began in an unexpected place: the public library where I worked.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we needed a way to keep our storytimes going for children and families. I set up a mini studio and started filming them myself. Those videos began gaining attention, and before long, people started asking me to help with their own projects. That spark ignited my path into content creation—first through short-form videos and graphic design, and eventually expanding into full multimedia production.
Today, I work as a Multimedia Specialist for a private, non-profit community health center network that serves the Pee Dee region of South Carolina. I help tell the story of health equity and access through visual media—whether it’s video, social graphics, or digital campaigns. Every day, I get to use creativity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
Outside of my full-time role, I own and operate two creative brands:
@you socials LLC – where I offer social media management, short-form video production, web design, filming, and graphic design. I help businesses, entrepreneurs, and organizations grow their online presence with high-quality, engaging content tailored to their voice and goals.
Forever Posted SC – a social media content creation service for weddings. I capture behind-the-scenes moments, joyful highlights, and real-time memories so couples can stay in the moment and still have amazing content to share.
In addition, I’m deeply involved in the wrestling community. I co-host two podcasts—Straight Through the Ropes and The 5 Star Podcast—which are both dedicated to amplifying African American voices in professional wrestling. I also create wrestling-themed content on TikTok, combining my love for the sport with my creative skill set.
What sets me apart is my ability to tell authentic stories across different platforms and industries. Whether it’s a community health campaign, a wedding day, or a wrestling commentary, I meet people where they are and bring their vision to life in a way that feels genuine and engaging.
I’m most proud of how far I’ve come—starting with a camera and a purpose, and turning it into a multi-faceted career rooted in creativity and community. The main thing I want clients, followers, and supporters to know is that I care deeply about the work I do and the people I do it for. I’m not just here to make content—I’m here to make content that matters.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the most defining moments in my journey—and a true test of resilience—came during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the time, I was working in a public library, where we regularly hosted storytime events for children and families. When the pandemic shut everything down, those in-person gatherings had to stop, and we faced the challenge of staying connected with our community.
Since I already knew how to edit videos, I took the initiative to set up a mini studio right there in the library, using what I had—my phone, some lighting, a few backdrops—and started filming the storytimes myself. It wasn’t about fancy equipment or a big budget—it was about using what was available to keep those stories alive and accessible for kids at home.
Those first videos started simple but meaningful, and as they gained traction, I realized the power of digital media to bring people together, even in isolation. This experience reignited my passion for multimedia and storytelling, and it became the springboard that launched me into working with clients, building my own businesses, and ultimately shaping my career.
That moment taught me that resilience isn’t just about overcoming obstacles—it’s about adapting quickly, using your skills creatively, and finding new ways to keep moving forward, no matter the circumstances.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the ability to bring stories and ideas to life in a way that truly connects with people. Whether it’s through video, design, or social media, I love crafting content that resonates, inspires, or even just brightens someone’s day.
There’s something powerful about turning a vision into something tangible that others can see, feel, and share. It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that my work can help businesses grow, preserve special moments, or give a voice to underrepresented communities.
Ultimately, being creative allows me to keep learning, experimenting, and evolving—while making a positive impact through the art I create. That sense of connection and purpose is what keeps me passionate every day.
