We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Michelle Brown a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle , thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I was going through so much in life. I was feeling depressed and angry. I just wanted to escape life. I heard about meditation and at the time I couldn’t focus on my breathing. So much was going on it kept coming up as I was trying to meditate. I was determined to escape and learn. I went to the library I got this book called The power of meditation A 28- Day program by Sharon Salzberg. After reading the book I ran across meditation on YouTube a guy name Aaron Doughty he had a meditation called “How attract love in your life” he said listen to this for 30 days it will change your life. So, I listen to it every day and every night for 30 days. One particular day during meditation I’m not sure but it took me to a deep meditation and in the meditation I seen a lil girl and it told me the reason why I love kids it said when this lil girl gets around kids she gets safe and protected. Also she wants to be free. After the mediation I was confused I didn’t know what was going on. Then I realized that’s me at 6 years old being molested. I instantly started to cry and understand I didn’t get over it I just learned how to cope with it. So, I have to free this little girl.
My form of freeing her was to get on top of a mountain and jumping off. The book didn’t come till years later. “The Innerchild of Me” I was debating to write because I felt like I’m not an author. I later found inspiration to write the book by watching a YouTube video by this lady named Lucid Living Tv. she had a video called Innerchild Healed I instantly watched it because I wanted to see and I was looking for motivation. In her video she talked about going to rescue her Innerchild out a hotel lobby waiting on her dad to come down and get her and the little girl was kicking and screaming she didn’t want to come. I immediately started to cry like this is real I’m not the only one. Telling myself people really do go through this I have to write this book. That’s how my business got started.

Michelle , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Michelle Brown. I was born in Detroit Michigan. As a little girl I always had the dream of having my own business and writing a book I just didn’t know what kind I wanted to write about or what business I wanted to open. I was on a search to find out. I graduated from Highschool and started attending a few colleges. I started to Major in Pediatrician at LCC because I love kids. As I got to see how many years it was going to take to graduate 11 years plus I told myself I’m going to be an old lady by time I graduate not understanding how time works. I soon to change my major to Counseling and transferred to Wc3 because I love to help people. Last major and I kept it all the way to graduation day at JCC with an Associate in business administration. Having a business was a huge goal for me. My book has been a major success for me. It has opened doors to many opportunities such as Interviews on YouTube channels, Radio Stations, Tv Network etc. My book has inspired so many people it’s evidence to let people know although you might had some trauma in your life it’s okay you don’t have to stay there you can acknowledge it, accept it, and change it. So, that you can heal your Innerchild and break generational curses from your past and be whole and free. I’m most proud of that I answered the call. I’m able to inspire millions of people with my testimony.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy to building my clientele is being my own promoter. I promote me and everything I do. I’m my biggest supporter and I’m passionate at what I do. My energy brings my supporters because they can feel it whenever they in my presence.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn is being so overwhelmed that I’m not able to function properly. I’m so determined to leave a legacy for my future.
