We were lucky to catch up with Michelle Boss recently and have shared our conversation below.
Michelle, appreciate you joining us today. Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?
The nature of my work has been around a very long time, and slowly with time it has been better understood, but there still so many misconceptions. Even when I first started doing this work I was shocked at myself, but the more I did it and explored my own sexuality the more I felt comfortable and confident in my own skin. Not to mention how much it cleared my head! I have never felt this free about my body my whole entire life. I’ve also learned that many other women felt the same way I did. As women we are shammed for being sexual and also so extremely self conscious about our entire body. From head to toe. From inside to outside. And boy do we get in our heads about, which then in return makes all our insecurities 100xs worse. Doing amateur porn has help me grow so much and I want to help other women grow the same way. Now, of course they don’t have to start posting explicit stuff on the internet for the world to see, but I do want them to feel empowered to explore their sexual side, with or without a partner. Every women needs to be experiencing pleasure on a regular basis. Also, they need to know that their cellulite and stretch marks are normal!!! Literally before I stated doing this line of work I considered spending thousands of dollars on my vulva, because I thought it looked weird. SHAME! Women should not have to feel this way EVER and I want to make sure of that.
Michelle, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Fun facts about me that you may not know and that also lead me to where I am now is it all started with TikTok and my husband. Actually the best part is he slide into my DMs on TikTok, and we quickly fell in love and got married. I had already a ton before we met, but he helped my embrace my sexual side. He never shamed me for always wanting it, because he always did too. We had so much passion that we decided we wanted to share it with the world. Now, that we have grow our platform, he has quite his vanilla job to work with me full-time, I have decided that I want to branch out and help other women embrace their bodies and their sexuality. I haven’t quite figured out how, but I am definitely working on it. Stay on the look out for a YouTube channel, podcast, or some other platform!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Hands down it’s helping others. I love to hear the stories of how something I did helped someone else.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Gary Vee! He says the same shit a 1000xs, but sometimes we need to hear stuff over and over again to keep us on track.
