Michele, appreciate you joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
I started my lifestyle blog back in 2014 and never really set on a domain name. I knew I wanted my name to be included somehow, I just didn’t know the “how” part. It was actually in a dream I had where I was correcting someone for the 100th time how to spell my name—Michele, with one “L.” That’s when I came up with the name MicheleOneL.com!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started blogging in 2014 as a creative outlet. Through the years this creative outlet has also become an online journal of my life and I’ve learned a lot—not just about the world of social media and blogging—but also about myself.
My mission is to always be honest because the thing is I am that girl who works a full-time 9-5 job, I have student debt, and my name is constantly being spelled incorrectly in emails. I work every day to be a better version of myself and to share my journey in hopes that I can help or inspire you too!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I think you should always be pivoting! Especially in a creative world. Your style is going to naturally change and as long as you’re staying true to yourself, the audience growth will follow.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I respond to every comment! As much as I possibly can I will tag the brands I shop at, respond to comments and DMs and stay engaged with my community.
