We were lucky to catch up with Michele Franklin recently and have shared our conversation below.

Michele, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, what do you think about family businesses? Would you want your children or other family members to one day join your business?

We are a family of entrepreneurs. I currently am partners with my son in a painting business and my husband in his computer business and my financial business along with my ministry of helping people find their true identity.
What works well is not controlling any situation.. sometimes you may have disagreements, but it is important to rise above that situation and not start getting mad, look at what is truly going on. My son and I have been in business for 8.5 years. We have had ups and downs but have overcome our disagreements. People want their own way but standing above that lie and looking at the bigger picture will encourage people to stay the course and not let disagreements stop the process of running a business.
We even live on the same street and get along great but there were times when that was questionable. It’s very encouraging to watch your children succeed in business and raise their families being able to have time with their kids vs being gone to a corporate job.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am a Minister first and everything fits under that. I am a wife, a mom, a grandma/Nana and entrepreneur
As I said above, I am involved with many businesses in my family, my son runs the painting business and I do the books. My husband does the computer repair business and I run the books I am a Minister of setting the captives free and have a financial business helping people get out of debt, save money and build money.

How I got in the financial industry?
My husband and I started our Amway business in 1995. My sponsor introduced me to God and said I could not build a successful business if I did not get to know God. God pursued me and I gave my life to Him and He has changed me forever. Our kids Danielle and Jarid were young when we started this business.
People needed help finding money in their budget to buy product so I began solving problems how they could make this happen. I helped people for 14 years getting out of debt and finding money. It was actually very fun. It’s important to like what you do. After leaving that business I continued to help people with money. It was almost a supernatural gift. Before excel I would put all the numbers on a piece of paper and come up with crazy plans to get people out of debt in very short periods of time. In 2014 I went to school to become a minister of Jesus. In 2015 a friend approached me and asked what do you do for a living?
“I said I help people get out of debt” she said “do you get paid for that”. I replied NO! She said you need to look at what I do.
At that time i was not working. So I joined her team. Got my life license to sell annuities and life insurance. At the same time my son asked me to help him with the painting business Franklin Custom Finish. And in 2016 we started our business, financial and painting.
I’ve helped people find cash in their budget, so they did not have to pull from a credit card each month and pay debt off of $100,000 plus in a year in a half.
In 2020 I kept hearing God tell me start a TV show with HSBN.tv. For 2.5 months I said NO. After many signs coming to me, I finally agreed. On 3/11/2020 thru a tv show I audibly heard God say “Michele you live in a “Fantasy World” too and I could not deny what I heard because I had lived in an atmosphere of confusion as a child with two alcoholic parents. I needed an escape, as most of us do, creating a place of self protection to survive. And wrote the book, Fantasy World and published it in June of 2023.
The book is how to get free of living behind the scenes and step out and take your place on stage or just in life in general. I started the TV show “We Will Do It Together” on 3/13/2020, the day the whole world shut down and ended the show in Aug of 2023.
I have been helping people thru tv, thru deliverance and inner healing to find their true identity and come out of the darkness into the marvelous light since I was a little girl.
Liberty and freedom is who I am. Setting the captives free in so many ways, financially, personally, spiritually and so much more.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Resilience is guarantee for success. Not believing lies or getting revenge. Being in business with your children can be fun at times. If they’re mad at you, you must be the bigger person to say no to the lies you want to believe, they do not deserve to be successful I can terminate this business at anytime. The evil is real but God is always good. We need to keep our eyes about what does not look like a positive situation and be the problem solver and fight the lies.
My financial business stopped for 4 years and I was able to focus on the painting business. I continued to renew my Life license as the financial business is quite lucrative and it paid off. This year I had many clients come to me out of the blue and ask for help. I really want to thank God for His help in being steadfast and trusting the process.
During Covid for the painting business, we had some challenges but it was a time to slim down, re-align and learn and we are growing and producing as much or more now keeping our focus on our employees staying employed. Creative thinking really helps during the times of resilience and things wanting to stop you but you keep going.
We overcame and still in business to continue to solve problems and paint the homes and business back to beauty

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
