Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Michal Bohm. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Michal, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I started in windows and doors business as a production manager for large company in Los Angeles. I had seen and experienced many example how this business can be run more efficiently and with better ethics. I started my business with simple idea of delivering high end windows and doors to the customers without all the hassle of high pressure sales tactics and cutting corners at the installtion process. It worked for us, as we celebrate our 15 years in bussiness.

Michal, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We at BM Windows Inc sale and install high quality dual pane energy efficient windows and doors. We help people with old inefficent windows and doors to replace them with new quality product.
In 15 years of our business we replaced tens of thousands of windows and doors throughout San Diego County.
In BM Windows we are focused on quality and customers from initial estimate all the way though the installation process. We are extremely proud that we establish ourselves as leading window and door company on San Diego market with over 50% of our new customers coming from referrals from our satifited customers.
We serve our San Diego customers not only as a windows and doors replacement company, but as lifetime partners through our Lifetime Warranties.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
As many of starting businesses we struggle to secure the financing to start our business. I had to get many different loans, credit cards and I even had to borrow money from the friends and relatives to secure enough funding to survive first year in business. It was difficult, but we were able to overcome the financial difficulties and over time pay back all our denbt and become profitable on the third year of our business.
Most important is to keep to the schedule and do not borrow more than you can pay back.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Couple years back when COVID hit our industry it brought my business to stand still for about three month. No instalation and no sales were made we were officaly grounded but bills kept coming in. At this time I seriously consider shutting down our business for good. Thankfully I made a different decision and push through this difficult times and I was rewarded with business stedily rising ever since.
