Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Michaela Majava. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Michaela, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
Learn to live in the grey. Society measures life determined by the highs and lows or typically with their past and future; those biggest, happiest moments to the lowest, scariest, and most alone. From focusing on old memories to worrying about the future. I think of that as the ‘black and white’. Our mind, body and soul were not made for just the extremes as a way of living. That is where burn outs happen, dreams stay distant, and stress and anxiety reside, then your nervous system cannot regulate and in turn, your whole self gets compromised. Regulation in the body is another form of rest, so when it can’t rest properly, you can’t be your best. and None of which create the life we are destined to live. Your past is a place of reference, not residence so while its beneficial to reflect, we don’t want to stay there for too long. We reflect to become aware of our actions to shift for the betterment of our future. And while its best to manifest or visualize our future goals in order to get there, we need our focus to be in the moment. So, what does “living in the grey” mean? Learning to love your NOW. Literally. So often we take for granted the things that help be better every day, do you have a car that helps you get to a job? Your car may not be the newest and your job may honestly suck at times but think of how many people would love to be in your position. Feel the relief of knowing you can care for yourself and/or others in your life because of where you are NOW. Not where you used to be or where you are going, but in this exact moment. Maybe its loving the sunshine on your face while you walk through your favorite farmer’s market. You GET to just be and walk through incredible heartfelt and homemade goodness. Give gratitude to your daily to live in the grey.
Shift your mind to shift your life.
Michaela, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a mother of 3 beautiful kids and it was shortly after having my disabled daughter while starting completely over in life, going through a divorce and fighting for my life due to Breast Implant Illness (BII) I realized there had to be a reason for my journey to have meaning. My daughter’s condition made it impossible to work outside the home and not working in general after so many years, I needed a way to provide with purpose. My health was declining faster with each day and lets be honest, i couldn’t see anyone caring for my kids the best way i know how so i did everything in my power to save my life by removing my chest during the pandemic and made a promise that if i survived, i would thrive. I became a certified coach practitioner with a specialty in hypnolinguistics. I realized my journey was the next woman’s (especially moms) survival guide. I knew how it felt to figure out life alone. It was such a struggle because i was constantly thinking why me until i understood how the mind works on a cellular level plus how to redefine or reprogram it. That was when I knew i struck gold for everyday people to be able to understand and serve to help them. Mental health more so since the pandemic has been the biggest struggle, from kids to our grandparents. And while we are starting to recognize it as a whole, we are still far too behind on gaining access to it to normalize it and a lot of it has to do with just pure knowledge of the importance of specifically having a life coach like me. What sets me apart is that I am not a therapist, I focus on your now to your future. I am not your consultant; I will never tell you what to but simply give suggestions to help in your new way of thinking. I love sharing and showing my clients how they truly have the ability to control their mind to control their life even when it feels chaotic. I teach my clients how to successfully balance everything from their schedule to their emotions in an empowering way. My favorite part? Getting a front row seat to the transformation and release of society’s worries when they realize how much power they hold as their accountability person. Having such a life has created so much relatability that allows me to connect on a personal level, maximizing on hitting goals when provided with a safe and healthy environment to be and explore their most authentic selves. Since my focus is you and not everyone is the same, I love to have options when serving. My New Indestructible You is a personalized program to work on the clients 6-12 month goals that is broken down into 3 sessions with the option for discounted hourly sessions afterwards to stay on track. Or if you are like me, I love having others with me so i dont feel so alone and having similar mindsets help surge the creative flow and so group workshops and speaking engagements are great! Maybe your goals are set but consistency is the obstacle. I offer hourly sessions in packages for a discounted rate for that too! and soon to come..HEALING RETREATS.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Shifting my mindset and networking with the right people have made a huge difference in building my reputation. You have to rid the Imposters Syndrome if you want to succeed in anything. You’ll never be fully ready so work with what you do know and face it til you make it. Literally FACE it. People are most likely to listen, respond, and invest when you show up physically then just virtually. Go to the industry conferences and network parties. Find people in your field of where you want to be (ie. Tony Robbins or Barbara Cochran), then surround yourself with likeminded people, locally to start, and put your business wherever you need in order to achieve that. Research business opportunities, events and see about collaborating with other small business owners when first starting out to have the word of mouth and referrals/reviews without spending all the monies. Work smarter, not harder.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of my biggest lessons I had to unlearn was people pleasing and to say “That’s on you”. So many people, mostly empaths, will know what I mean when I say that. Our minds and hearts absorb outside energies so easily that we can actually be exhausted around negativity or the times we want to say no or tell someone how we feel or what we think, can literally leave us sick. I grew up never questioning my elders or superiors and always doing as I was asked. That amplified once I entered the casino industry, before life coaching, and my wellbeing, finances relied on that mindset (which is why I was probably so good at my job). That then carried over to my former marriage which became so toxic I had no choice but to leave. So, there I was, having no clue how to function because that was all I knew. Taking that step to unlearn and learn at the same time was scary but beyond worth it. Understanding the mind now I’m thankful to learn that it’s okay to say decline things and people that are not meant for you, and that its okay to let others feel the feelings they bestow on you while holding ground your boundaries, no matter the title they hold because in your life, it’s YOU that gives them the title and chair to sit at. So, when something doesn’t go someone’s way that would only benefit them, it’s okay to say, “That’s on you.”
