Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Michael Wohlwend. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Michael, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
At Alpine Supply Chain Solutions, we specialize in projects that solve customer challenges and drive operational efficiency. However, the work becomes truly meaningful when we take on projects that extend their impact beyond the companies that hire us. A prime example of this is our collaborations with SF-Marin Food Bank and the Greater Boston Food Bank.
It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that our efforts with these non-profit organizations directly contribute to putting food on the tables of those in need. Unlike for-profit businesses, non-profits like these measure success differently. Much of their inventory is donated, leading to significant variability in the type, size, and shape of goods they handle. This presented unique challenges, especially with temperature-sensitive, perishable items. Ensuring that food remains fresh while reaching shelters in a timely manner was our top priority.
For the SF-Marin Food Bank, we assisted in designing a new facility to accommodate future growth. With the Greater Boston Food Bank, we focused on optimizing their existing facility and processes to support increased demand. Both projects were deeply rewarding, knowing that our work helped these organizations serve their communities more effectively.
I’m incredibly grateful that Alpine had the opportunity to contribute to such meaningful missions. These experiences underscore the profound impact our expertise can have when aligned with a purpose beyond business goals.

In the supply chain, strong partnerships are essential to navigating complexity, driving innovation, and delivering real value. Partners tend to be our best source of leads. They know us and trust us and and refer us with confidence to our ideal customers. Partner referrals come with built-in credibility, leading to faster sales cycles, higher conversion rates, and solutions that truly fit customer needs.
