Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Michael Temple. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Michael , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?

As a graduate and alumni of San Diego State University, with a degree in Painting and Printmaking, I made is my duty and promise to myself that I would have a career as an Artist, that I wouldn’t settle for a job that had nothing to do with my degree. Knowing there would be struggle along my path I embraced it knowing success would follow. Through consistent hard work, opportunities flow like water.

Michael , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Madd Kyng works with a variety of mediums on an array of different canvases from, animal skins, fabrics, reversible canvas, cars, you name it. His inspiration comes from pop culture and the classics of Art History. He puts all his thoughts cohesively into the canvas to make the perfect motif, showing the technical skills of the old masters, yet with a wild imagination to create an eye captivating composition. Now Madd Kyng concentrates on murals around the country , doing tattoos and becoming the ultimate artist.
Madd Kyng has worked with Tobe Nwigwe, Johnny Dang, Stuart Weitzman, Whataburger, Vice, and many more.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most satisfying part of being an artist is the joy I bring to others at the same time doing what I love . Art has brought me so many places I could have never imagined, When god blesses you with a talent, it’s our duty to serve others and make the world a better place. After having a son and giving him the initials A.R.T. Seeing my lil Art become bigger than me

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

The best way to build your audience is to create with passion and by always having a wow factor. If you can have good bait to catch people’s attention then you can build, but only if you keep engaging with your followers. My last 2 post have reached over 2 million each on instagram because I of the way I caught the audience attention. Understand your audience and what people want to see is a major factor. Really just be You.
