We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Michael Quintal. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Michael below.
Michael, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?
The creation of Keepers of the Word stemmed from a perceived gap in Freemasonry—there was no dedicated voice to counter conspiracy theories or misconceptions about the organization. Furthermore, many felt that the deeper allegories and symbolism of Freemasonry were being overlooked. Keepers of the Word was founded with a mission to address both these issues, offering clarity to common questions and misconceptions, while also exploring the rich symbolic and allegorical tradition that lies at the heart of Masonic teachings.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Mike, and I’m passionate about bringing clarity and depth to the world of Freemasonry. As one of the founders of Keepers of the Word, we focus on uncovering the rich symbolism and allegories often overlooked within Freemasonry. Our mission is to provide thoughtful insight while debunking conspiracy theories surrounding the craft. We produce educational content, host events, and offer esoteric resources aimed at expanding the understanding of Freemasonry’s deeper meanings. What sets us apart is our dedication to truth, accuracy, and the protection of the tradition’s integrity.
What I’m most proud of is the community we’ve built—one where Masons and non-Masons alike can explore the mysteries of Freemasonry in a way that is both enlightening and inspiring. For anyone curious about the real principles of Freemasonry, Keepers of the Word offers a space for authentic exploration.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
In the early stages, we faced pushback from some of the older members at our lodge. They viewed Freemasonry more as a social club rather than a mystery school rich in ancient ritual and symbolism. Despite the resistance, we chose to persevere, staying true to our mission of exploring the deeper, esoteric aspects of the craft. The journey hasn’t been without challenges, but it’s been incredibly rewarding to see our community grow and embrace the hidden meanings within Freemasonry.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative and making content is the ability to express ideas that resonate deeply with others and foster connection. It’s about taking abstract concepts, emotions, and knowledge, and shaping them into something tangible that sparks curiosity, reflection, or inspiration. Watching a community grow around the content you’ve created, seeing how it influences others, and knowing that your work can provoke thought or offer insight is incredibly fulfilling. It’s the impact that makes the creative process worthwhile.
