We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Michael Osei. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Michael below.
Alright, Michael thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
My brand name is OseiShotIt. As my name is Michael Osei, it was fairly simple being able to decide on the name as I, Osei, “shot it”. Yet there’s a deeper meaning which touches on my culture/heritage and how getting captured by me on camera is an introspection into my creativity and talent and how that translates into my art.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Michael Osei, I am a Ghanaian-American photographer based in Maryland. I shoot primarily on medium format film and I model my work based upon fashion editorials both from the past and present. My inspiration developed as a young youth surrounded and engulfed in fashion/photography. With an older brother/cousin who became a model, I was inspired by his success and his development in castings/runway shows. With my love for both sides I was able to connect both my passions and start creating.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe quality has been my biggest help in building reputation. With high quality work consistently, it’s been easier for clientele to be able to trust me to produce the same great results for them.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
The best way I’ve found in keeping in touch with clients and fostering that relationship has been treating my clients like friends. This has helped in building comfortability and has helped me stay in touch and also open availability for future projects.
