We were lucky to catch up with Michael Memar recently and have shared our conversation below.

Michael, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

I used to work for well-known Architectural & Design Firms. I realized how homeowners struggled dealing with change orders fees caused due to lack of miss communication between designers & GCs or lack of details on the drawings. I decided to form my design. Build firm to provide both services to homeowners to prevent issues like that, and make the construction process smooth.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

When i was 15 years old i became interested in art and photography. Therefore, i enrolled in photography classes and later on join art / vocational high school in overseas. After i graduated from high school i already knew that i had passion in learning Architecture, so i decided to study architecture in the university. Right after graduation, i started working for design firms. In 2010 i enrolled for interior design school because i became interested in interior design since it was more detailed and concentrated in interior of the house. After graduation, i started working for design firms and later on i formed the Design Build firm to offer both design & build service.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I have attracted more followers in social media by just posting more attractive and unique pictures of my work. I wanted to be the different firm than others.

Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?

when i started the business. at the beginning i had to work in different fields in order to keep up with my & business bills.
