We were lucky to catch up with Michael M Martin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Michael, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My overall Mission to to create Beauty, Showcase Different view of clients to Provide. that OMG factor for clients that might not be able to afford creative content elsewhere. My Drive to make my Mother in Heaven proud of what im doing with my life. Networking is very key in a small city that is saturated with everyone doing the same thing..Being different is the test., Trying to see beauty in a way most never think about ..I push my self hard to try to be seen, yet at the same time i understand this business. I’m So thankful to be able to do this craft as long as the air in my lungs will allow me to.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
About me . I been shooting since the age of 11 years old . It has always been my passion. I got into shooting Fashion and models 15 years ago for a small company that i fear is no longer around. they published my work and allowed me to photograph there models when clients where closer to me then going into the city. Being a Photographer in my city is tough because there so many people doing it . the goal here is and has been trying to find your own style. That’s what i have focused is being different. I’m most proud that I’m still important in my city i’m still needed i am inspiring young creators to be creative that is amazing to me . My company #studiobymike main goal is to help amazing clients build strong content that will allow them to show case there craft and grow, and my self being able to see my work on other platforms makes the dream a reality.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What helped me at the time when i got into this craft is that it wasn’t many people doing it. it was a select few photographers, yet we where all close not against each other we tried to make each other better. I feel that being the only photographer at the time that did the type of shoots i did helped me to grow as well as i did , I became known at the time for the person to go to when you needed modeling photos. That love for the craft allowed me to better my self and push even harder over the years.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
For me the best thing anyone can do in this day and time is promote your self. share , share , share. Networking is one of the most powerful tools you can have in this craft. spend hours reaching out to new clients on daily base selling my vision to see if they would want to allow my company to help them grow. social media has been a gift as well as a curse- it allows you to reach out to people yet not all clients are ok with your style of content and most already have a team and are not looking to change over. so id have to say NETWORKING has been the driving force behind my photography
