Hi Michael, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
The key to success is an individual journey and everyone has a pedigree for the success of their own goals and achievements. I believe what it takes to be successful from my point of view is putting God first, in everything you do put God first. Be committed to the goal you want to achieve, by being engaged you will gain momentum and motivation to achieve those goals. Set goals that are achievable and attainable, take a leap of faith and believe in your God-given ability and talent, learn from your mistakes and never give up, as human beings, we have what it takes to be successful because success starts from within, everything that we need to be successful is in us.

Michael, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am Michael Hunte, also known as “The Gentleman” I am a Christian, husband, musician, producer, singer/Songwriter, tech enthusiast, and entrepreneur. I am currently living in Atlanta, Georgia. I am originally from a beautiful country called Guyana which is located in South America, I am the eldest of eight siblings and my beautiful parents are Aubrey and Carlotta Hunte. Growing up in a Christian home, music was always a part of my life. I started playing the piano at the age of four, my dad; a pastor and musician plays the guitar and sometimes the piano. Every day after my siblings and I got home from school, my parents would gather at the piano and we would sit around and sing while my dad played lead songs from church on the piano. One afternoon my dad got up from the piano to help my mom prepare dinner, with curiosity and excitement in my eyes I got up from the floor and quickly sat down at the piano, the first key I touched on the piano I fell in love instantly with the sound I was hearing, within minutes I was playing the last song my dad was playing before he stepped away from the piano. At that moment my parents knew that I was blessed with the gift of music. My gift has grown into a passion and I have been on a mission to share it with the world impacting the lives of people through positive and uplifting music. My passion and love for music lead me to start my company, Just Music Productions.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
After relocating to Atlanta, Georgia in 2019 I started to experience anxiety and depression. At first, I didn’t know what it was, I was just feeling empty, lonely, fearful of living, fearful of dying, fearful of being alone, losing control of my life, and feeling unhappy. I was always worried about my next paycheck being able to take great care of my beautiful wife and being the husband that I need to be in our marriage. I was thinking about taking a leap of faith to change my career and live my life with purpose and intention, starting a business doing the thing that I was born to do. I was afraid of being rejected, not being good enough or talented enough as a musician and entrepreneur, and constantly worrying led to anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and the list goes on. I hit rock bottom and I wanted to give up on everything, I contemplated taking my life many times because the pain I felt inside became unbearable and I didn’t know what to do. In my moments of weakness and despair, I had to remind myself that my life is not my own to take, God wouldn’t give me more than I can handle and this too shall pass. I had to find the courage and strength to keep going, transforming my stumbling blocks into stepping stones and my test into a testimony because everything that I do is bigger than me, I am doing it because God has blessed me with an amazing gift to be a blessing to all of his people, I am doing this for my family, music is who I am, it is a part of me and as long as I live, I will live a meaningful life with purpose until my work is complete.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Building a good reputation in any industry starts with you as an individual. The tools that I use to help me build a reputation within my market is being dedicated to my craft, being consistent and passionate about what I am doing, and having the willingness to do it when I don’t feel like doing anything. Being honest and transparent with your clients, keeping your word, being welcoming to feedback and constructive criticism, learning from your mistakes, and always finding ways to improve in your areas of weakness. Think outside of the box and expand the horizon of your craft to stand out from the competition, exceed the expectations of your clients understand their goals, and fulfill their needs. These qualities help to build a relationship between you and your client, this is the key to longevity in business.
