Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Michael Hollingsworth. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Michael thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope to be remembered for being a genuine person, regardless of my accomplishments. A few years ago I never would have envisioned me being here …being able to inspire others with my work ethic and determination, more so than my talents. It’s good to receive recognition for your efforts, but i’m chasing my dream for my 4 year old son. As long as he’s proud of me then that’s all that truly matters.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am “Goldie”, a creative director and web 3 artist born in Gary, Indiana. I joined the web 3 space in 2021 with no set goal in mind, I was just fascinated by the technology and concepts of what web 3 had to offer. I provide services such as consultations, art commissions, marketing and sales advice, and more. I believe what sets me apart from others is my work ethic, which was instilled in me at a very early age. My parents made sure that I understood the value of hard work, and those values remain with me to this day. I am most proud of my own personal growth these past few years, as a businessman and as an artist. My brand has been recognized around the world in such a short span of time. I just want to continue to grow in my profession.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Honestly my most effective strategy has been community building. Staying connected with my supporters, rather it be on social media platforms or in person has really helped me grow.
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
I feel like I became an artist out of desperation. I started painting as a means of therapy, I never envisioned that I would be the “Goldie” that people see. Things really took off last year with the success of my project, the Scary Garys. Ever since February of last year I’ve basically been responsible for a 6 figure company/business, and I can’t say that I was totally prepared for that. Another key milestone was when I released my own shoes based on that particular project. The shoes released on October 1, 2022 and was met with great reception.
