We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Michael Ferdinard. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with michael below.
Michael, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My mission as an artist is to create thought-provoking works that capture the essence of human experiences, emotions, and societal realities. Through painting, I strive to tell stories that inspire conversation, challenge perspectives, and evoke deep reflection. My art serves as a bridge between personal expression and social commentary, addressing themes that resonate with individuals and communities. By exploring different narratives, I aim to foster connections, encourage self-awareness, and contribute to positive change in society.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Ferdinard Michael, and I am a visual artist and creative entrepreneur passionate about storytelling through painting. My journey into art was shaped by personal experiences, childhood struggles, and a deep observation of human emotions and societal dynamics. I see art as a powerful tool for communication, a way to address important themes, and a catalyst for change.
I specialize in painting, particularly oil painting, where I explore emotions, identity, and human resilience. My work goes beyond aesthetics—I aim to create pieces that evoke deep reflection and spark meaningful conversations. Each painting is an invitation for viewers to connect with the narratives I present.
Beyond my art, I run KickBar, a cocktail brand that blends creativity with social engagement. Through events like Sip and Paint, I provide a space where people can unwind, express themselves, and connect in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
What sets me apart is my ability to merge artistic expression with real-life narratives, making my work not just visually appealing but emotionally resonant. One of my proudest achievements is embracing my artistic voice without limitations and sharing works that deeply reflect my perspective.
For those engaging with my art or brand, I want them to experience more than just visuals,I want them to feel, think, and connect. Whether through my paintings, events, or creative initiatives, my goal is to inspire, uplift, and leave a lasting impact.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the ability to tell stories and evoke emotions through my work. Art allows me to express ideas that words alone cannot capture, creating a bridge between personal experiences and universal human emotions. Seeing how people connect with my paintings, how they interpret them, find meaning in them, or even feel seen through them,is truly fulfilling.
Another rewarding aspect is the freedom to explore, experiment, and grow continuously. Art is a journey, and with every piece I create, I discover new techniques, perspectives, and ways to communicate visually. This constant evolution keeps me inspired and motivated.
Beyond personal expression, I also find great joy in sharing my work with others, whether through exhibitions, collaborations, or my Sip and Paint events. Creating spaces where people can engage with art, share their interpretations, and even create their own works is incredibly meaningful. Knowing that my art can inspire, comfort, or challenge someone’s perspective makes the creative journey deeply fulfilling.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Yes, several books have significantly shaped my management and entrepreneurial thinking.
Taking the Risk and Gifted Hands by Ben Carson taught me the importance of courage, resilience, and faith in pursuing my dreams, even in the face of uncertainty. They reinforced my belief that taking bold steps, whether in art or business, can lead to remarkable outcomes.
Talent Is Never Enough by John C. Maxwell emphasized that raw talent alone isn’t enough for success; discipline, perseverance, and continuous growth are essential. This has influenced how I approach both my creative work and business, always striving to refine my skills and expand my impact.
Self-Esteem and the Soul by John Monbourquette deepened my understanding of personal development and self-worth. It helped me appreciate the role of confidence and inner strength in leadership, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
Beyond Ideas by Vijay Govindarajan and Chris Trimble shifted my perspective on innovation and execution. It reinforced the importance of turning creative ideas into tangible results, which is a principle I apply in both my art and KickBar.
Lastly, God’s Generals by Robert Liardon inspired me through the stories of great leaders who transformed lives through their vision and faith. Their dedication and perseverance serve as a reminder that true impact requires both passion and purpose.
These books have collectively shaped my approach to creativity, business, and leadership, helping me navigate challenges while staying true to my vision.
