We were lucky to catch up with Michael Coleman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Michael , appreciate you joining us today. The first dollar you earn is always exciting – it’s like the start of a new chapter and so we’d love to hear about the first time you sold or generated revenue from your creative work?
My first earning as a creative is when I didn’t believe in myself and my friends pushed me to go outside and show my work to strangers. I remember it like it was the other day lol! It was at a pizza shop,in Atlanta, they would have a Dj night on Fridays and i ask them to display some of my work and they said yes. The love I got from from strangers was unbelievable to the point it made me a believer and that was the first time I earned as an creator.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For the people who are just learning about me, my name is Michael Coleman, a.k.a. Jiggy Korean I’m from Washington DC and reside in Atlanta Georgia.
I got into the art world in 2018 after a rap band failure and a relationship breakup, i found self care and focusing on what I wanted out of life. My options of finishing school for radiology or using my talent, which I discovered during a sip and paint date lol , after that day I would fall in love with sketching out my ideas and painting them.
My friends would visit me and tell me how amazing the art I was creating was great , but I wasn’t making money at that time or even believe people would want to even buy a piece, I had know idea how to get people to buy or support! I had absolutely no idea where to start or what the art language, platform or groups to get help from.
All I knew was what I have learned from the music industry and my background in branding and marketing , so I used my skills from that and created my brand RVRE Creators learned through marketing people love visuals and out the box ideas things they never seen before.
I preach to my core supporters about consistency and control! It plays a huge part in my career success.
Consistency is a big factor it’s honestly the key to opening a lot of doors.
That’s actually why I think this mindset sets me apart from others, I want people to feel again I want the adults to remember to use their imagination again! Life can be tough sometimes and stop a lot of us from feeling and being in tune with ourselves and I want my art to speak to that inner you and make you feel.
I have a saying I tell my art collectors and supporters when I meet with them “ Live in every moment and enjoy every emotion’”
It’s makes what I do fun and easy!!! It makes proud to to see the engagement of people with my creativity.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Honestly, i’m a huge music fan. Music is a love language for me so honestly, I would say Nipsey Hussle is the reason I grind so hard and stay consistent and care so much about growth and entrepreneurship management and building a team and heavy on success.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
my goal is to be the face of contemporary fine arts and mixing art and technology in one world.
