Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Michael Castillo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Michael , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
As a kid I had a vision to leave a mark in this world; a stepping stone so others can know what they are capable of. Today’s youth are pushed to an unfair world which often kills the innocence and purity of a creative mind. MCAST studios is created to restore the creative flow that has been founded in the Renaissance time period, Mcast studios is a platform where all artist can express their vision and ideas. We create tailored campaigns to fit any specific artist, buissnes, resturants.
Right now MCAST studios is currently testing on the Possibility what MCAST can be; a home for musicians, painters, photographers, sculptures, architect’s, and engineers to restore and rebuild the vision we once had.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
On August 12, 2020, like many, I found myself in a mental rut. Just after graduating, the world seemed full of promise, only to have it swiftly yanked away. Uncertainty loomed as I witnessed societal discord, riots, and injustice. While some may have lost faith, as an optometrist, I see opportunity amidst the chaos—a vision where people unite and support each other once more.
Amidst the pandemic, small businesses, especially Hispanic-owned ones, faced devastating losses. Witnessing this, I took action to support them by promoting what they had left. Elejidos LLC, in particular, was on the brink of closure due to financial hardships. That’s when I initiated the ‘tempo in sync’ campaign, aimed at uniting cultures during these challenging times, celebrating our shared love for music and cars. In 2020, we achieved record-breaking profits, surpassing even the local Best Buy, making it our most lucrative year in business yet.
This ethos is at the heart of MCAST Studios: aiding businesses through marketing not solely for profit, but driven by a genuine desire to witness their success and help them achieve their financial aspirations.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Fortuitously, my childhood companions became my co-founders and business partners. Erik Montäno Castillo (Kire) and Josh Montãno Castillo (LilTime), my brothers, understand me intimately—we’ve weathered hardships together. Our shared childhood experiences solidified our bond, making them the natural choice as my partners.
Each of our unique talents contributes to what MCAST is today and what it will become in the future.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I’ve encountered several impactful books that have shaped my thinking. Firstly, the Bible, particularly the book of Proverbs, which offers timeless wisdom attributed primarily to King Solomon. It provides practical advice on virtuous living, emphasizing values like wisdom, righteousness, diligence, humility, and reverence.
Another transformative read was Mark Ecko’s ‘Unlabel: Selling You Without Selling Out.’ Ecko, a fashion designer and entrepreneur, shares valuable insights on building a successful brand while remaining authentic. His book delves into entrepreneurship, creative expression, and maintaining integrity in the business world.
Lastly, the Harvard Business Review collection on emotional intelligence (EI) explores its significance in the workplace, highlighting its impact on leadership, team dynamics, and organizational performance. These resources offer valuable guidance on developing EI skills such as self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and social skills, with practical strategies for professional contexts.
Some additional recommendations include ‘The Richest Man in Babylon,’ ‘The 48 Laws of Power,’ ‘Mastery,’ and ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse.'”
