Have you ever had to pivot?
Before entering real estate, I spent over 15 years running a successful marketing and design firm. It was a career filled with creativity, strategy, and building brands, but over time, I realized my passion was shifting. I wanted to create something tangible—helping people build wealth and achieve their dreams through real estate.
The transition wasn’t without its challenges. Moving from marketing to real estate investing and becoming a Realtor required me to adapt, learn a new industry, and build a reputation in a highly competitive market. However, my background became my greatest asset. I used my marketing expertise to craft innovative strategies for uniquely positioned properties, and my design experience helped clients see the full potential in every space.
This pivot allowed me to combine my skills and align with my passion for helping people create meaningful futures. Today, as a Realtor at Compass and part of AMRE Partners, I’m proud to leverage my unique background to navigate the Los Angeles market, uncover hidden opportunities, and deliver exceptional results for my clients.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I bought my first property, a duplex in West Adams, I wasted no time. I immediately gutted it to the studs, eager to bring my vision to life. But then, my contractor fell through, and I was left standing in an utterly stripped-down building with no clear path forward.
It was a daunting moment, but thanks to a friend’s recommendation, I connected with a reliable general contractor who helped me get back on track. From there, I took charge as project manager, overseeing everything from permitting to design.
I took on the roles of architect, interior designer, and logistical coordinator. Every choice, from structural elements to selecting finishes, became a hands-on learning experience.
The eight months of renovations were challenging, but the project’s completion was transformative. Not only did I have a beautifully renovated duplex, but I also gained the confidence and knowledge to guide others through similar journeys.
Seven years later, that duplex is one of my best investments, providing rental income while giving me a home I’m proud of. That experience taught me persistence and the proper support can turn challenges into opportunities, even when things fall apart. I apply this lesson to clients, helping them confidently navigate their renovation and investment dreams.
