We recently connected with Micah Trigg and have shared our conversation below.
Micah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
I keep track of all my clients’ information, such as their addresses and birthdays. I make sure to send them a happy birthday card and text message. Around the holidays, I send them a Christmas card, and if I’m in the area, I always stop by to say hello. I notice that the response I get is always positive, and they really appreciate me remembering their special day and taking the time to come see them.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a dedicated and licensed life insurance broker, committed to helping families secure their financial future. Working with various companies, Micah offers tailored protection plans for families, specializing in life insurance and final expenses. With a passion for assisting others, Micah serves as a local benefits coordinator, focusing on providing affordable life insurance solutions.
I got into the business by messaging a friend from high school to inquire about life insurance. I was debating between life insurance and real estate, and I chose life insurance. What sets me apart is that I’m very personable and relatable. I make people feel comfortable asking me questions and inquiring about life insurance. I provide them with helpful information they’ve been wanting to know.
I’m most proud of the fact that I’m helping people and families learn financial literacy and plan for the future. I specifically like to work in the inner city, where I feel the information I’m providing is needed. I like to help people who look like me learn more about final expenses and life insurance, and how it benefits them while they are alive, not just when they transition. I love that my job is to help people.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I’m really big on constantly telling people what I do and asking for referrals. I’m consistently in the community, doing events, visiting senior communities, and spreading information about what I offer. Building trust with current clients and over-delivering has consistently brought me more clientele and referrals because people trust me.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Just start posting—a lot of people just don’t start. People won’t know who you are or what you offer if you don’t tell them and put it out there. Learn how to create reels and use social media; invest in classes to help you learn how to edit better. The more you do it, the better you’ll become. The key is being consistent. People know who I am and what I’m doing because I consistently talk about it and post about it. Even if you don’t know what to post, find something to talk about and do it consistently. You will slowly start building your clientele, and people will know what you do and inquire, which will lead to more clients.
