We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Micah Mindoro a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Micah , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
Ever since I can remeber, my parents have always shown me and my brother unconditional love and support. Whether they supported us in trying different sports/music instruments or comforting us after making any mistake, big or small. The best example of them showing me unconditional love and support is when I came out to them. Without thinking twice, both gave me the biggest hug they could and said they loved me no matter what and so proud of me. There are no words to say how much that meant to me and positively impacted my life. After that day, I gained the confidence and believed I could do anything I set my mind to.
Becoming a realtor right out of college, I had a mixed emotions of excitement and nervousness because I would be starting my own business and only had myself to attribute my successes and failures. If I did not have the love and support of my parents, I am not sure if I would still be doing this as my profession. They always motivate me to do my best and that I am worthy of making it big in the real estate industry. My parents have a stack of my business cards too and refer me to their coworkers and friends if the topic of real estate comes up. With their support, I was able to get my first client and helped one of my dad’s cowrokers buy their home here.
Parenting is hard; there is no crystal ball to say what to do or how to react to situations. My parents, through thick and thin, have always stood by my side and could not be more grateful to be their child.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got started in the real estate business two years this month. I graduated college amid the pandemic, and the job market was beyond crazy at that time. After some time thinking, I realized I wanted to pursue becoming a realtor here in Colorado. I have always had a passion for real estate; growing up, HGTV was my favorite tv channel. I dreamed of being on the show one-day to help people buy their dream house. After realizing that is what I wanted to do, I enrolled in real estate school and studied for two months before passing my exams.
After passing my exams, I joined the New Era Group at Your Castle Real Estate, the largest independent brokerage in Colorado. I also set up my own LLC, Mindoro Real Estate, and became a business owner at the age of 21. Since joining, I have provided multiple clients buy properites all throughout the state, ranging from Denver to Castle Rock. Denver’s real estate market is one of the hottest markets in the U.S., so my main priority is assisting my clients navigate through the process and making sure they are able fulfil their dreams of being home owners. I have worked with both first time home buyers and home buying veterans, and no matter if this is their first or third home, I make sure to provide them with market knowledge and tips to get their offer accepted.
There are over 50,000 real estate agents in the Denver-Metro area, but what sets me apart from others is my passion for real estate and the brokerage I work with. Real estate can be a dog eat dog business, but with Your Castle we work together to make sure we all succeed and provide the best service to our clients. With over 700 agents and multiple managing brokers, there is always a helping hand to assist and support when needed.
I am most proud of putting my clients first and being adaptive to the ever changing housing market. Clients need to hire a professional who makes sure they listen to their needs and can advise them during times of change. The market today is not the same market 6 months ago. The housing market is unpredictable and can change at any moment. I like to embrace change and be innovative with my approach to the market so that my clients are able to get into a home sooner than later and enjoy homeownership.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is fostering relationships with people and not being a salesman. I pride myself on not being a pushy salesman to get clients, but allow clients to choose me organically. I view people as people, not dollar signs on a comission check With social media and the people I am close with, people are aware I am a realtor so I do not feel the need to remind them constantly. I want people to work with me because they want to and not because they feel they have to. No one likes to be sold on something, so why would I try being a salesman with people on one of the biggest purchases of their life. I am more than happy to show my value, whether that be answering any questions people have, posting market updates on social media, or showing appreciation to clients both active and past by hosting events or giving them gifts throughout the year.

How did you build your audience on social media?
As soon as I became a licensed realtor, I created a business Instagram account that was separate from my personal account. I followed the majority of people from my personal account on my business account and let them decide if they wanted to follow back or not. I gained the majority of my audience through my posts and stories. I post about three times a week; one for business, personal, and things to do in the city. I also post new restaurants and coffee shops on my stories frequently, which has increased my views and account interactions.
People want to follow business accounts and are more invested if they get a sense of who you are professionally and personally. If people feel like their is a connection or have things in common with you, they are more likely to remember who you are and that will grow your following.
