We recently connected with Micah Jackson and have shared our conversation below.
Micah, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
I would say I wish I had started my career sooner. I’ve been making music for about 8-9 years now. But, when I was first starting out, I didn’t have a dream for music. I used the art of creating music as an outlet to cope with and survive things happening in my life at the time. Even still to this day, music serves that same purpose and gives me that same fulfillment. But, the things I know and also desire now are different than that of which I wanted in my younger years. Music was something that was always in me and I knew I loved music since a little kid. The dream chase of music didn’t come until later down the line. So, to the original topic. I would choose to start my career sooner because I would’ve been able to learn the tools and the things to be able to actually pursue a music career, versus being in the unknown for a good amount of time and just making music solely for the love and passion.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
As someone who comes from a broken home, a childhood of pain and trauma, hitting rock bottom, losing people who are close to me, I’ve never let those things define who I am. I pride myself on being a loving, kind-hearted spirit who is humble in their approach to life. God is my savior; He’s my rock, and I am unashamed to say that. I am not a man that is silent when my people experience oppression. I love hard but demand respect. That’s what Micah Jackson and The Revolution is all about. If I’m not relating to my fans, giving knowledge, spreading love, or bringing positive vibes, then I’m not being my authentic self. I love and appreciate every single person who has shown me support and has believed in me up to this point. It’s time for the world to know who the next MJ in line is.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
The answer is simple. Stop the hate; Spread love. People in our society love to judge others without knowing their story. People expend more energy trolling and hating on people rather than give them their flowers while they’re still here to receive them. Let’s change the narrative!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Being able to know you’re actively and actually making a difference in peoples lives. It’s a feeling that is priceless. Having someone tell you that music you created from your heart and soul is the reason they’re still alive. Or that your creation has helped them through a rough time in their life. Hands down!
