Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Micah . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Micah, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Music has always been a passion of mines. I knew when I was three years old sitting in my car seat of the back seat of my mother car. When I heard Alicia key’s debut song Falling. I open my mouth up and began singing word for word. My mother turned around surprised to hear this big voice from a 3 year old. That’s when I knew I wanted to sing. That I wanted the world to hear my voice. Being around other music influences shaped me into the artist I always wanted to be.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Currently now, I’m working on my EP called Metaphors. No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. I’m young, and I’m still learning. I’m still trying to figure out who I am as a person. I like to call metaphorical stages the different phases I go through in life. On the next journey that awaits, I still have room for growth and improvement that I work on Dailey, for example, working on my vocals. Striving. to be the artist I know I can be. What sets me apart is Micah being my weird, crazy, quirky, and creative self. As I call it, It’s a Micah thing you wouldn’t understand. What are some of my greatest accomplishments, completing my debut single, Daydream, and releasing it on all streaming platforms and recent opportunities with radio station Streetz 105.1 Last September. As I continue to working on my EP Metaphors. Currently, this summer I’m working on a couple of Summer projects I’m happy to reveal. One of the projects is my new single called Carousel. I’ve been working on that piece for awhile I’m excited to release soon to follow right behind releasing my EP Metaphors.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
That everything takes time nothing never happens overnight. That everything has a process. Learning to be patient with myself that it is okay to pace myself and take my time. Rushing things isn’t the way to go. When you rush, things happen to fall in the cracks. Moving in silence is the way to go, I’ve recently discovered moving in silence makes me more productive. I have time to actually process things at my own pace vs being publicly out in the opening. I’ve noticed things run way smoother. Being in your 20’s you think you have to hurry up because you think don’t have enough time. When you really have all the time in the world you don’t have to rush. From experience, I still have my moments where I feel like I have to rush. I’ve learned the lesson it’s okay take your time, pace yourself, and trust you meet your goals.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Creativity runs through my veins. I use to write a lot of poems. Poems that happen to turn out to be lyrics. Lyrics that happen to turn into a song where I accidentally ended up writing my Debut single Daydream.
I will say the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is knowing that I touch people with my voice, my words, and my music. To know I put a smile on someone’s face or made someone day. I like to paint a picture through my music. For my fans to experience every raw emotion, every raw tune. A tune they will never forget. Music is very therapeutic. We all have similar experiences. That’s what makes us human .knowing that I left my imprint is very rewarding. I called it my gift to the world.
