Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Micaela Deegan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Micaela, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I started my company, Fearless Mujer LLC., which means Fearless Woman. I serve and help women by using different outlets such as; private coaching, my podcast, and my book.
As a certified Life Coach, I empower women to let go of the limiting beliefs that hold them back, so they can heal, step into their confidence, and pursue their life’s purpose. My mission is to see women impact and lead others through their unique gifts and expertise, and I am also passionate about empowering women to use their voice and share their message.
Over two years ago I began my journey into podcasting and I had no idea that I would be able to help so many women. As a Latina woman, I believe that we need strong voices who will build up others. I’m honored that I can do that for other women through my voice, stories, and knowledge.
I also recently authored a book called, Dear Fearless Mujer, You Were Created for More – A journey to healing, letting go, and finding purpose.
A couple of years ago, my family and I went through a devastating time in life. We experienced something extremely traumatic. A secret came out that we were not expecting to hear. It shattered me in every way. This book is a small part of that story. More importantly I share my journey of letting go, finding my true identity and new purpose. Dear Fearless Mujer is a great book and resource to equip women with tools to find healing, passion, purpose, and more!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Micaela Deegan. I am a woman of faith, wife, mother, and an author. I love to empower Latina women to believe in themselves so they can pursue their life’s purpose, because I am a firm believer that each person was created with a purpose.
My passion for helping women comes from years of pain and setbacks. As a young girl who grew up in a rough neighborhood on the Southwest side of Chicago in a broken and dysfunctional home, I know firsthand the damage this can do to a young woman. That’s why I devote myself to seeing women break free from self-limiting beliefs and generational beliefs that hold them back from pursuing their life’s purpose. I love to challenge women to see themselves through a new lens and not through the lens of others.
Honestly, my dream was not to become a Life Coach or Podcaster. After a traumatic event happened in my family it completely shifted my direction in life, both personally and professionally. My daughter was a victim of sexual abuse, and as a survivor myself I knew that I could not stay silent.
After going through my healing journey a few years ago, I knew that my purpose was to help women know that absolutely nothing can hold them back if they desire to pursue their life’s purpose. It’s a matter of wanting more for your life, and then pushing past your limits to get there.
I have been able to help so many women overcome their own self-limiting beliefs that were getting in the way of their next chapter in life.
Some of the women I work with also have a desire to coach others or share a bigger message through podcasting, and that’s where I am able to partner with them so that they can accomplish their vision and goals. I help map out a plan for them while also providing them with the accountability they need. Seeing women step into their confidence is so powerful!
I’m most proud of having taken something tragic that life threw my way and using it to become the stepping stone to a much bigger mission.
What I love the most about working with my clients is seeing them transform and find their breakthrough because they have stepped into a new level of confidence!
I believe that what sets me apart from others is that I have a unique way of really seeing women for who they can be, and I owe that all to my faith in God.
I grew a love for studying God’s word as a student of Liberty University School of Business, and I believe that my education there shaped me to become a servant leader.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What has helped me build my reputation and is still helping me is knowing that I am here for others and to serve others. Being a servant leader means that I get to partner with my clients to help them achieve their goals. I care for my clients deeply and I feel honored to serve them. Being a business owner and life coach is not about a title, it’s about partnering with people to help them achieve their goals, so that they can be an influence in the lives of others. When my clients know that I have no agenda other than to help them reach their goals, it helps me build a strong relationship with them.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
What has been most effective for me has been my podcast, The Fearless Mujer. Podcasting has allowed me to build trust with my audience. It has become my superpower because I am able to show up authentically and that has helped me nurture my audience, while connecting with them. Potential clients are able to use my podcast as a resource to gain valuable tools while getting to know who I am as a person. When you understand who you are speaking to it makes it so much easier to give both your current and future clients what they are searching for, and as a life coach that is vital to my business. I’m able to give value while being myself, that’s pretty amazing! When listeners reach out to me on Instagram to tell me that my podcast helped them overcome something challenging it really motivates me to keep going. Podcasting is truly an art and a great asset to any company, big or small. You will never know the impact you will have on others until you take the leap to share your knowledge.
