We were lucky to catch up with Mica Rose recently and have shared our conversation below.

Mica, appreciate you joining us today. Can you tell us a story about a time you failed?

The most significant failure we have had as a company was when we recently did not get to open our physical location. It was our first time ever having to lease for our business and the leasing agent did not tell us that we needed to get a building permit. It was not until a couple of days prior to the move in that we found out from someone that we would need a building permit. When we contacted the city, we were told that we could not do retail out of the location because the area was not zoned for retail.

As you can imagine, this was very disappointing, and it was a major setback as we had been preparing for months for our big move in day. We had not been able to find anything that matched our price range and standards other than this location. Being that we are a spiritual shop, and we believe that everything happens for a reason, we took this as a sign from The Universe that it was not time. We are now working to make sure we have everything prepared for our physical location so when that time comes, we will be well prepared. We will also take all of the necessary steps to ensure that the location can be used for our needs prior to moving forward. This situation was definitely a learning experience.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?

Cosmic Rise was established in 2019 with one thing in mind: What can we offer to raise the vibration of those around us? We were always busy so it was very important for us to offer something that fit into a busy lifestyle. Through our own experience, we found that wearing crystal jewelry was one of the easiest ways to carry an energy tool with you. This is why we chose crystal bracelets as our first product and at the time, that was all we sold.

We always had the intention to expand into a full metaphysical shop. We are so proud to say that with blessings, hard work, and the support of our customers we have done just that! We are an online metaphysical shop that offers items for all your spirituality and energy healing needs. We work hard to ensure that we offer durable, high-quality products at a considerable price. We want to help others learn how to use energy tools to support them on their spiritual journey so we make sure there is information on how each of our products can be used.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

When I started, I had to put up all the capital from my own personal funds. Once I started making sales, I was able to use a portion of the profit and my cost lessened. Luckily, within a year of me starting my best friend joined me as my business partner and we were able to split the cost and help our business thrive!

How did you build your audience on social media?

When we first started on social media we had a hard time getting followers. Cosmic Rise is all about giving back so we started a monthly give away where we would do a raffle to give a prize away to those who liked and shared our prize photo. This helped us to gain true followers who were actually interested in our products and we were able to give something back in return!
