We recently connected with Mia Reona and have shared our conversation below.
Mia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
I recently released an EP titled “Mood Swings”. This EP means a lot to me because it is my first official release, and since the release, opportunities have been calling and I’m grateful for it all. The EP is a journey through my mood swings with love, relationships, friends, heartbreak, growth, mixed with a little egotistical fun. A cohesive rollercoaster of emotions that will definitely leave a good impression of my music, and teach a little bit about me in a vulnerable way.
Mia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I go by the name MiaReona. I am a music recording artist, writer, consultant, and director. I have been perfecting my craft for the past nine years, since 2014. I’ve always had a love for music, poetry, and writing. My passion for writing grew into writing poetry, and then R&B, HipHop, and more. I also like to help artists write songs, and consult them for future plans for their brand. I believe I set myself a part from others who do what I do by being true to my authentic self and keeping in mind why I started. I started because I wanted to have fun expressing myself in the most creative ways I can think of. I am proud of my journey and the people I’ve met along the way. There are a lot of genuine people that want to see me prosper, and I’m thankful. People make posts and come to performances, and show a lot of love and appreciation for my work. I love being an artist.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I believe music lovers and supporters of the art can support creatives by purchasing the merchandise they sell, attending showcases, watching their YouTube channel, buying the music they release, and keeping up with their growth. I like to be invested in artists that I love, and it means a lot when the love is reciprocated.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goals are to stay true to myself, make cool art that people like and cherish, and take care of myself and my family. I want to become widely known and successful in countries beyond the USA. People from overseas reach out to me often about hearing my music and seeing my videos and it’s so heartwarming.
