We were lucky to catch up with Mia Balventy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Mia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
At Kistemo, our mission is to create healthy, meaningful entertainment for children—entertainment that doesn’t just entertain but educates, empowers, and inspires. We’re building a vibrant world where kids learn art, business, and leadership skills in a way that feels like play but builds a strong foundation for life.
This mission is deeply personal to us because we believe that childhood is the most powerful time to plant seeds of creativity, confidence, and purpose. Parents aren’t just looking for fun content—they want tools that help their children grow into capable, visionary leaders. At Kistemo, we answer that call by combining storytelling, art, and entrepreneurship in every program we create.
We’re not just producing content—we’re nurturing the next generation of thinkers, creators, and changemakers. That’s why this mission isn’t just what we do—it’s who we are.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For those who may be hearing about us for the first time—welcome! My name is Mia Balventy, and I’m the founder of Kistemo, a creative brand built around the mission of healthy entertainment for children. At the heart of everything we do is a deep love for storytelling, art, writing, and design—a passion that’s been with me for as long as I can remember.
Growing up in an environment that nurtured my imagination and encouraged me to think outside the box played a huge role in shaping who I am today. I realized early on just how powerful creative expression can be in building confidence, emotional intelligence, and leadership skills in young minds. That realization became a calling—and Kistemo was born from that desire to give back and provide children with the same opportunities that helped me thrive.
At Kistemo, we offer a variety of products and services centered around educational entertainment. Our creative works include:
Children’s books and eBooks
Art classes and workshops
Story-based business and leadership programs for kids
Original characters and cartoons that teach life and entrepreneurial skills
Parent engagement tools to support learning at home
We focus on solving a key problem many parents face: finding meaningful content that not only entertains their kids but also teaches valuable life skills. Our programs are designed to help children become more confident, creative, and business-savvy—all while having fun.
What sets us apart is our unique fusion of creativity and entrepreneurship. We don’t just teach kids how to draw or write stories—we teach them how to dream big, share their ideas, and even build their own projects. We believe in raising visionary leaders, not just talented kids.
What I’m most proud of is the genuine impact we’re making in children’s lives. Seeing kids light up when they realize their ideas have value—that they can be creators, inventors, and leaders—is what drives me every single day.
For anyone discovering Kistemo now, I want you to know that this isn’t just a business—it’s a movement. A movement to empower the next generation through creativity, to give parents powerful tools, and to build a community where imagination and life skills walk hand in hand.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
We keep in touch with our clients and foster brand loyalty by creating genuine, ongoing relationships—not just one-time transactions. At Kistemo, we believe in building a community, not just an audience.
We stay connected through:
Regular updates and behind-the-scenes content via email newsletters and social media, so families feel part of the journey as we create new books, classes, and characters. Our clients know that Kistemo is not just about entertainment—it’s about empowering their children to imagine, create, and lead with confidence. We listen, we grow together, and we make sure every family feels seen, supported, and inspired. That’s what builds true loyalty—and a lasting impact.

Have you ever had to pivot?
One of the most defining pivot moments in my journey came when I realized that simply creating beautiful content wasn’t enough—I wanted to create impact. I had always been deeply involved in art, storytelling, and design, and for years I poured my heart into creative projects, from books to illustrations. But something was missing.
That moment came into focus when I started working more closely with children and saw how much they craved not just entertainment, but purposeful guidance—tools to help them understand the world, express themselves, and develop real-life skills. I realized that many of the shows, books, and content available to kids lacked depth. That’s when I knew I had to pivot—not away from creativity, but toward mission-driven content.
I shifted my focus and founded Kistemo, where storytelling is combined with art, business education, and leadership skills. It was a big change—moving from a purely artistic approach to one that integrates education, entrepreneurship, and empowerment. It meant learning new things, building programs from scratch, and reimagining what children’s entertainment could be.
This pivot was both challenging and rewarding, and it taught me something powerful: your greatest impact often lies where your passion meets a real need in the world. Today, I’m proud to say that Kistemo doesn’t just entertain—we equip children to grow into confident creators and thoughtful leaders. And that change in direction was the best decision I’ve ever made.
