We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Meylen Bp. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Meylen below.
Meylen, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The mission of Women’s Growth Club holds a special place in my heart, grounded in the challenges I have faced, personally and professionally. After moving to Berlin, I’ve gained huge value from supportive networks and communities, that have helped me launch various projects and initiatives fostering professional growth. I created this space to offer support and opportunities to those who like me, understand the challenges of pursuing goals without a strong community or reliable support.
Growing up between the U.S. and Mexico border, in a world divided by borders and barriers, I grew up valuing resilience, diversity, and community. These core values shaped my perspective on the world. They became the foundation of my journey, guiding me as I navigated my career and creating a space where women can identify and connect.
Women’s Growth Club was born from the desire to create a space where women in business can connect, collaborate, and grow together. Our mission goes beyond networking; it’s about building genuine relationships, empowering one another, and creating lasting impact through shared knowledge and experiences.
It has been proven that when women come together, we break barriers and redefine what’s possible. My ultimate mission is to empower the women in my life, including my family, friends, and community, to discover their purpose. I aim to inspire women everywhere to discover new paths to growth and success, one step at a time.
As we move forward into 2025, I am expanding this mission to empower women in business and those ready to embrace the next phase of the internet, Web3. With the same commitment to empowerment, I believe women can lead, innovate, and thrive in this new frontier, creating lasting impact as we have in every industry before.
More than networking, it’s a platform for connecting with purpose and achieving together.
Meylen, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As the founder of Women’s Growth Club, my mission is to empower women through innovative initiatives like mastermind sessions, workshops, and community-driven initiatives. What sets Women’s Growth Club apart is its unique focus on combining professional growth, as we adapt to the fast-changing tech environment. The future of work will be shaped by technology, and it’s essential that women are an active part of that transformation.
Before founding Women’s Growth Club, I created Growth the podcast in 2023, where I shared the stories of inspiring women from Europe, the U.S., and Latin America. Through their journeys, the podcast helped me realize the importance of continuous empowerment and support, sparking my awareness of the need for greater representation of women, in business and creative industries, both locally and internationally.
Back in 2016, I led the local chapter of Ladies, Wine, and Design, a global initiative that connects and empowers women in creative careers, where my passion for female empowerment originated. These experiences laid the foundation for Women’s Growth Club, where women can break barriers, support one another, and embrace new opportunities.
I have always been curious about how creativity, leadership, and innovation come together, which is why I pursued an MA in Creative Strategies in Leadership and creative sectors in Berlin, after earning my BA in Arts and Communication from UT El Paso. These experiences gave me a deeper understanding of the intersection between these fields. Over the past ten years, I have worked across design, media, project, and product management, as well as adult education. This diverse and multipassionate background has given me a unique perspective on leadership and project coordination, and it’s what fuels my passion to work with women.
Last year, we launched mastermind sessions and workshops focused on building confidence and resilience. This year, I’m excited to expand our focus to include growth through embracing new technologies. Web3 offers creative tools that can open endless possibilities for women to transform their businesses and careers. I truly believe that by embracing this shift, women can lead in new areas.
Looking forward, my goal is to build a foundation for long-term growth through the work I do at Women’s Growth Club, providing women from all walks of life with the mindset and tools they need to build the confidence to innovate and lead in the future. Growth is universal, and it should be accessible to all.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the most important lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that everything needed to be perfect before I could take action. Coming from a background in design where aesthetics had to be flawless and later on with project management, I was used to meticulous planning and refining every detail. I learned that progress doesn’t require perfection, it’s about taking imperfect steps and learning by doing! This shift has been crucial as I expanded my focus, embracing new technologies and venturing into creative strategies, even when things weren’t perfectly planned.
At one point, I also had to unlearn the idea that career growth should follow a straight path, as a multipassionate person with many interests. I faced the challenge of wanting to do it all, but learned that with structure and patience, everything becomes manageable. Embracing the non-linear nature of growth has had a great impact on me, this mindset has shaped how I approach both my business and personal growth.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Resilience for me is having the courage, energy, and determination to follow your dreams, even when it means stepping far outside your comfort zone. Creating my own reality as an entrepreneur, in a new continent required not only vision but also the ability to adapt and push through uncertainty. It meant juggling multiple responsibilities while pursuing a mission I was passionate about, knowing the impact it could have on others.
There were moments of doubt, wondering if I could manage everything while building something meaningful. But I leaned on my past experiences and the importance of persistence and authentic connections. Resilience isn’t about having it all figured out, it’s about the determination to create something meaningful, and the energy to keep moving forward, even when the path feels difficult.
