We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Metro Deezy. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Metro below.
Metro , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
When it come to actually rapping, it’s funny because I didn’t even know I could rap at first, but after the reaction tap in got and how well it was received for it being the first song out of nowhere, I knew there was some potential.
Knowing what I know now I just wished I would have wrote more often, I just like to take my time with verses though
I think the most essential skills were how I like to deliver my verses and switching how fast or slow I got in my verses
I don’t think anything’s stood in the way of learning more, I’m always open to learn something if it’ll help the creative process
Metro , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Metro Deezy, Im a rapper and make some of my own beats too. I started raping when I dropped a song just having fun and it actually sounded pretty good. I’d say for the most part I’m going for having fun/party vibes. Even most of the beats I make that I use for myself usually for this, for the most part. Also, fun fact, my favorite song that’s dropped is definitely by my lonely, I didn’t make the beat for that one, but the vibes are really upbeat and it’s really relatable. Especially for me, because If I take a loss, I’m coming back for sure, I’m too stubborn to give up for real.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
This story was nuts, but I almost had to re-record by my lonely. Before the song came out, my laptop screen broke, and I had to get it fixed, at first when it broke I thought my laptop was finished, but I took it to a computer shop not far from me, it took like a week and a half for it to get fixed. The whole time I was like man I might really have to redo the song, and I knew it wouldn’t hit the same as the first time, since I’d be pissed from having to redo it. But I patiently waited for it get fixed, and when I got it back, I swear you would’ve thought it was my birthday, I was hype for real. Plus I think I costed about 100 or so bucks. The timing was just crazy, right when I was pretty much done wit the song, but I was getting that laptop fixed at all costs
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I’d say I wish I had gotten home studio equipment earlier, because it allows me to really take my time on my verses and record whenever I want, and if I want to come back and record tomorrow I can, or if I want to just experiment and see what sounds good I can. To be honest my part of the hook for Tom ford came from just messing around, I was saying a line I wrote in different ways, and then I said in a sweet way, and put reverb on it and knew that was the one
